Hi All,First post, Great Forum.

I just got my M35 sport with 19 inch rims and low profile tires. This is my first time driving a vehicle with low profiles tires.

My question to the group is:

Is it typical for the noise to be so loud inside the cabin. I can really hear the "road texture", especially when slowing down to a stop.

Your experiences regarding this topic is greatly appreciated!!

I can't say what new tires sound like but mine have about 6mm left and they have a hum to them when I slow down to stop. I dont notice the sound any other time, so it doesn't bother me at all. I knew this going into the Sport model, however.

Noise is subjective. Coming from an Accord, I find my M35 Sport with low profile tires with hardly any tread left on them to be very quiet. It does have more noise than a BMW but less than a TL.

Other people who sat in my M35 say it is very quiet. Turn up the volume a notch and road noise is gone. In fact, I find the blower to be more noisy than the road noise.

I purchased my '06 M35X with 19 inch low profile tires (from a M45 Sport) . After problems with tramlining, my dealer swapped out the 19" wheels with 18" wheels, as standard on this car. After the swap, I didn't notice any difference in road/tire noise. And, the noise I hear doesn't seem to be excessive.

Individual subjective is near worthless in comparison! Why they make accurate and inexpensive sound level meters to report exact SPL in decibels.

Most high performance directional tires get loud after 8,000 miles as the tuning from depth of tread begins to wear down.

The noise level varies from brand to brand and tire to tire even within a brand (i.e. AVS-ES100, ADVAN Sport, AVID W4S, etc). Then as directional tires age, the noise level changes.

What tires are on the car, and do you have any idea of the age (time and miles)?

Thanks for all the feedback

They're Falken 255/40 ZR19 (Y100). Vehicle has about 27,000 miles. Threads are still good.

Sound \ Vibration is noticeable most at lower speeds especially when coming to a stop.

I just had the car in for 30K service, as well as alignment, rear brake job, power steering flush, and belts replaced. Write states 6/32 or More Tread-Gtire (not sure what that means though). They did say there was some cuping in my tire, thus the need for the alignment ( I cant see the wear but I'm no expert)

I couldnt see if they rotated the tires or not. Its not written on the write up.

Posters are right, sound is subjective, so I think I'll ask a Infiniti Mech to ride along with me.
