I know this has probably been asked before, but what's the widest size tire setup I can put on my 2008 m45x with out having any trouble. I would like to run staggered but am told that you cannot. If not, I know tire rack says 245/40-19, is it possible to go slightly wider? Also, any one who has done this size on a 35 or 45, how much difference in ride quality/noise is there? And any recommendations, on a reasonably priced tire, with good ride quality and noise level at least as good as the stock 18s? I would like them to perform well in the rain and snow also, I live in the northeast and may not even take them off in the winter, being that I'm only going with 19s and its AWD. Thael

Correct. If you want the AWD system to not break, that is.

If you do a search, you will see why "All-Season" tires are pretty much an euphemism for "neither good in summer, nor in snow".

So, if you really are going to spend money on 19" Sport wheels, then I would strongly recommend spending some more money on cheaper 17 or 18" wheels (or using the ones you now have!) and putting good snow tires on during the snow and winter. Even if your car is AWD.

I lived in New England many, many years, and can recommend using snow tires in that area quite easily ... with personal experience of what happens if you do not!

well Ive had the car all winter, its great in the snow with the stock tires, so if i have to use them for a few months, no problem, so im basically stuck with 245/40-19? as only size choice?

You could go with a slightly different size (say to 245-45-19 or 255-40-19) assuming there is enough clearance, but you have to make sure to keep all 4 tires the same size or you risk damaging the AWD system.

You can do 20" by 8'1\2 or 22' 8'1\2 all around a friend of mine has a 09 M35x with 22"s and has no problems what so ever just keep the rims width and tire size they same all around

Well anything above 19 isn't an option, I live in pothole central, (NJ and frequently drive in Manhattan). And as far as them having clearance, as far as the wider tires goes, well that was my question lol. Whats the biggest, width wise I can go running 19s and not have a problem.
