I have recieved a blacktop longblock from osaka in mint condition with a harness and ignitor and mafs.

They never sent me the ecu so I had to go out and buy one for $325 cause I cannot get them to send me one. Anyways.

Turns out that the harness that came with the motor is different than a regular S13. These wires run differently on the ECU plug. So I had to try and figure out some of the positions and switch some of the wires/pins on the ecu plug to get it to start.

I am wondering if anyone can provide me with a wire color corresponding with its role on the plug from a Type-X SR20DET Harness ECU plug?

I need this in order to mix and match the wires to get this motor to run like its meant to.

Anyone have that pinout for the Type-X SR20DET Harness that includes the wire colors and their designated role?

Yes I have done about 3 hours of searching websites and nothing found.

S15's dont have an igniter, S14's and S13's do. The igniter isnt built into the ECU, its built into the coilpacks.

There are only like 3 wires that are different on the Kouki ECU, ask heavy throttle if they will tell you which ones to repin. They know, they just might keep that info secret. I might be able to tell you in a little while, my buddy just ordered an S13 kouki engine/harness/ecu.

my ecu is a E5 and i am using a different harness than that of which is compatible with the regular E series (E5, E6, E63, E62).

The ignitor wires are different from what I see so far, but I know there are other things, and thats why my car idles and drives a little supratically. I already did timing, tps, and all of that stuff.

Go here for a diagram of the S13 SR20DET E5, E6, 62, and 63 ECU pinouts. If you in fact have a Kouki harness, then try to figure out which wires are different. I would imagine its the coilpacks but I havent seen a kouki wiring harness in like 3 years.

yep i believe your right, 3 of the 4 are in different spots, and i think the eccs relay is different too. But why wont my fuel pump turn off after 3 seconds of ignition on and no crank rotation? maybe the fuel pump is wired to a 12v ignition sensor and i have just had them mixed up!

Perhaps. Though you may have a bad relay too. Worst case secenerio, I have seen fuel pumps stop priming when the ECU was blown. Happened like 3 times to my friend.

Did you still need the pinout for either harness?

Here is what I figured out. Just looks like the main thing is the 2,3,and coilpacks, and the tachometer wire.
