180Sx tails

Anyone who has done the 180SX taillight conversion to their fastback, can the stock wiring be used? Or do I need the JDM harness too? I already know about the center garnish and bottom piece needed to make the conversion look clean.

I used the sockets that came with the new tails and spliced them into the existing wiring. It really wasn't hard at all, just match the wires up.

this may sound stupid, but i have always wondered, does the kouki conversion bolt right in?

Yeah, it's a direct bolt in. All the holes match up and everything fits right in. The hardest part is just getting to some of the bolts that hold the pieces in, even then they're not that hard to get to.

what is a kouki conversion? i havent heard of that.

It refers to the tailights off the 180SX pictured on the car in rudee023's post.

I'm wondering if the center garnish is available with 240sx on it. I just really don't want to be a 180 :/

If you buy the lights as a kit the center panel comes black. There is no 180/240/RPS13 on it, you can paint it to match your body color if you want. I just left mine black. As far as I know the 180/RPS13 insignias on the panel are just stickers that can be added on to it, although I'm not sure where you'd get them from.

We have the carbon fiber overlays in stock (Nissan OEM part) that say RPS13. Give a call or email for details.

Kouki refers to "new version" in Japanese, and Zenki being the opposite, hope this clears it up:D
