Car 1993 Nissan 180SX (JDM car)

Problem: She wont start.

History: Caught the 1st time I turned the key then I stupidly didn't give her any gas, so she stalled out. I tried again and she turns over but doesn't even sputter or catch at all.

Troubleshooting thus far:- Replaced battery with brand new working batter. - I checked the plug wire on cyl #1 (closest to front of car). It arcs. - Removed corresponding plug and it looks a little fouled but not too bad. - Removed hose off of fuel rail end (the hose farthest from the valve cover) and fuel spilled out of the hose.

So what is next? How do I get this beast started?

Pics for fun/

Did it work before?

Can you push start it?

If you have fuel, spark and air, thenI would suggest you check your timing...

good luck

double check fuel lines and a starter wires also try to reset timing to stock and make sure your fuel lines cross

Did you just flood the engine and foul the plugs causing there to be no spark in the cylinder? Check ECU for codes. Check all fusible links and fuses?

I now changed the plugs and dumped some fresh fuel in th cylinders as I changed them. The car started 1st crank and then died out again. I repeated and the same result.

I therefore must conclude that the engine isn't getting any fuel, even though the fuel filter is allowing fuel to pass and it gets to the fuel rail.

Any way I can firm the operation of the fuel pump?

You should be able to hear the pump prime when you turn the key to ignition. Do the plugs smell like gas?

Try spraying carb. cleaner into the intake manifold via a vacuum source while someone cranks it over. If it starts and will stay running while you spray the starter fluid or carb. cleaner I would say you have no fuel for sure. You could always take the fuel supply hose off, put it in a bottle and have someone turn the key to the on position. If you have fuel I would say the pump is okay to at least start the car. The get a noid light and check for an injector pulse from the ecu at the injector. If the light blinks then I would say you got some bad gas. If the light doesn't blink then cry because you may need an ecu. Or the ecu isn't receiving a particular signal to turn on the injectors. Crank position or cam position sensor maybe. I dunno, good luck....514
