It’s a personal choice as long as it is done correctly. For the ground, I would tie into the ground from the parking lights. For power, I would run power back to the un-fused side of the parking light fuse box terminal and put a weatherproof 15-amp inline fuse in a convenient spot. This would allow me to use the fog lamps only when the parking light or headlight are on and gives you the ding-dong to remind you to shut them off when leaving the car. I used to run my fogs directly off open power and I can’t remember how many times I left them on during daylight and came back to a drained battery. To relay or not to relay. The purpose of the relay is to lower the current going into the dashboard. Since most manufactures run everything off relays it sounds like a good approach. I used a black rocker switch and mounted next to my rear windshield washer control. HTH
