Hoping you guys can help me, i'm from the UK and not much info here on these.

I have a 1996 180sx Type-S (belive same as Type-x just with SR20DE), bought the car for the only intention to do a SR20DET swap.

Bought an SR20DET Straitcam Redtop out of a 93' PS13 with all wiring and running gear, and fitted it to my car.

Now this is where i've ran into a problem, the loom (wiring harness) that came out of the PS13 does not fit my dash connector under my dash, and looking at it the car side of the dash connecter has a hell of alot more wires then the 8ish wires on the engine loom side ?? There is also an extra connector down by the headlights ?

The dash connector under the dash has alot of fine pins were the ecu loom side of the dash connector has corse connector pins..

What loom do i need for my car and ecu OR do i need to hardwire to the car ??

I have 62 ecu and redtop loom, should i buy a j4 ecu and blacktop loom ?? will this plug strait in then ?

Any ideas?

Thanx,

Clarkey, UK.

sounds like you have a problem like most us 240sx's. do you still have your old harness? if you do you might have to splice the wires inorder for them to work. i know that the harness side if needed to splice you only need like 6 wires in order for the motor to run.this websight might help you out in that range. might not be the best in your case but it might get you in the right direction.http://www.frsport.com/SR20DET....htmlgood luck with it and hope to see pics of it on the road!!

That is a good link mate, thank you for that, my loom has the very same white connector on it that is wrong, so i'm guessing i'm not the first to have this problem

The car is being built for a drift car to be entered into the uk drift championship, this is the car the day i picked her up, not so fast with the SR20DE in her. lol

hope you like, really tidy car.

and the engine,
