180sx conversion

pretty soon now i'll be putting in my new CA18det engine into my 240sx. I already have the 180sx tail lights on. after the engine swap what difference will my car have to a 180sx? other than the back mirrors that say 240sx what will the difference be. and will the engine swap make a difference in weight, if so what will my car (2600 lbs) end up weighing afterwards. thx.

Your car wieghs 2700 pounds acually.

And you will need a 180SX wing. You could also opt for a Kouki 180 front bumper and lights all over, it looks sweet...

well if 180sx.. u can also change from turn signal lights to the jdm (1/2 orange, 1/2 white ones) or if u want the type-x 180sx look... u can get the little square position lights and a type-x bumper. +++ points for pimp factor.

I like the kouki bumper but it so cot damn expensive. It will need the bumper lip and sides, thats already atleast 1g for just the front bumper.

So after the engine swap, all i'll need is kouki 1/2 turn sigs, and a new front bumper, and them my car is a 180sx.

yep, that's the non type x 180sx. i believe that's what u want. i dont know why u say you'll need a new bumper though? unless u have an 89 or 90, those kouki 1/2 sigs will screw right in like stock.

okay then, i suppose I do have the same bumper as some of the 180sx's at least, maybe not a type x but still a 180. sweet, i love 180's they're so hot. I just love the bragging rights to having an american 180sx in chicago.

180sx covers all 240sx hatches...... The 180sx over in japan had the pignose, and that bumper above, and the kouki bumper. The kouki 180sx came when the S14 was made over here.

yeah the bumper is not the expensive part, but the position lights, turning signals and pieces that connect from the fender to the bumper. i know i have one =) luckily i dont like the look of the 180 with the lip it requires the kouki skirts to flow evenly i prefer the straight look.

basically the car is almost identical looking exterior wise besides the turning signals, side skirts/rear valence. and all the stuff that says 180sx. if you want to go into detail theres the power folding mirrors, and the suede interior.

you guys should call it 180sx kouki or late model, type x also existed with the chuki or 91-93 bumper. you dont have to if you dont want to though. i mean you guys call late model tail lights kouki tail lights so why not kouki 180? doesnt bother me though

looked clean as hell, everything on belonged, and i hadn't seen anyone with the same set-up. there were a few people including pdm's demo car that had similar set-ups but didn't have both kouki lights AND canadian running lights.

damn i wish i didnt sell that car!
