Hello everyone, a few months ago my friend blew up his ca18 and we couldn’t find a replacement motor for months so we decided to put in a sr20.

Fast forward to putting the motor in everything went fairly smoothly I laid out the loom etc to figure out where everything goes and we spliced the original ca18 chassis loom to the sr20det engine loom. I kept the battery side loom from the ca since it seemed to work with the sr20 minus the knock sensor.

The engine side of the loom is all getting battery power and ground but it’s like the ecu isn’t outputting any signals to fire the coils and injectors or even prime the pump. Ecu reads the CAS, all ecu grounds tested as they should, ecu power feed is getting the right voltage. Igniter is in and plugged in unsure if it’s completely working but it’s still sending battery power to the coil harness.

I’m unsure what to test next, the car just cranks and doesn’t sound like it’s firing at all, I’ve had help from somebody and he’s told me that i’m actually running a s14 sr20, s14 loom and s14 ecu. I’m going to try a friends ecu from his s14 and see if it fixes it but if it doesn’t i’m super lost on where to go next. Any help would be really appreciated thank you

So no fuel/injector pulse... is it getting spark?
If so you can try and put some fuel in there manually just to see if it runs. Dump some down a vacuum tube or something. If it starts and runs ok for a few seconds, generally your timing and everything is good.
If it pops and pukes, you might have something so far out of wack that the computer doesn't know what to do.
