welcome aboard my main man :thumbup

I always recomend:-enjuku-heavy throttle-phase2motortrendand-jarcoto any one looking for a SR20.

If you can find a motorset of comparable quality and completeness for $1800 you are a lucky man!

talk to Pulsar GTR. he's a CA18det private seller and also can get a hold of SR's. Im getting 2 sr's for 4100 shipped. I will receive my motors next week. i will post up pics of the motors when i get them. It includes everything except smic kit. One motor did not come with a ignitor chip but it's ok with me. Overall, his customer service was great. ;)

Honestly, people seem to forget that all SR's dont come from the same place.

$2500 redtop SR: Probably taken from a whole, running car$1500 redtop SR: Probably taken from a junk yard or put together using several junk sets.

To me, price means nothing, quality means everything. If your going to completely rebuild the motor, then all that really matters is that you get a complete motorset. If your going to leave everything on it, I would suggest you buy the best motorset you can afford.

i completely agree w/ u guys...but if im going to build up the motor than i dont really need to spend the 2700 or so from heavythrottle or enjuku(sp?) even though i know those guys are extremely rep. places..like that total jdm place they even have 110% customer satifaction gauranteed...(everybody says that) but if they warrenty the main stuff than in my opinion thats the main importance... they quoted me an extra 100 dollars for uncut harness and another 100 for ign. chip...and shipping dont seem that bad....plus from the other thread that i was trying to find for 1800 shipped... the guy (i believe) said the lmotors looked in good shape and spoke highly of the guy....

All im saying, is don't go by the word of ONE person and what a website says, thats a good way to get ****ed. I know by personal experience and I dont want anyone else to go though the same thing I had to.

I tryed the whole "cheap motor" deal, it sucked, now im a customer of the shops I mentioned and will remain so.

I got mine from a local shop in SoFla. They get their motors from the same distributor as Heavy Throttle and I paid a good deal less (and didn't have to worry about shipping). Checked it out today...it's nice. :) Blacktop s13 sr from 98' 180sx. I'm so excited I feel like a little kid on christmas morning! :asmile

cheap isnt always good, cheap can mean damage, motor and transmission and nothing else, even if you plan to replace it, nobody wants that.

hes a very good friend of mine...the shop that we both are sponsored by does not sell junk...we take pride in our customers and what we sell them...we are just starting to offer motor sets and we have a very good supplier for them..check out my web link for pricing

also please do realize that $1800 is not all that cheap for a SR motor set...given what most distributors get them at...a motor set is much cheaper because it is the motor and transmission...just that...the clip is worth MUCH MORE because u are getting EVERYTHING from the transmission forward...u cant really compare clip pricing to motor set pricing...theyre 2 totally different things...the majority of swaps that go on here in vegas in hondas (oh god i said the H word on a nissan board lol) are done with motorsets NOT clips

Negative. Last 180sx to come off the production line was some time in 1999. ;0

I was comparing motorset prices from high end, well known companies to bargin bin motorset prices from local shops that really have no amount of national reputation. Sounds like the shop you got yours from gave you a great deal. If you have a praise for a company, thats fine with me, if they are sponsering you to go out and try and sell motors for them, thats definatly NOT fine with me. Please stop trying to sell motor on here unless you're going to start paying for advertisiment, those are the rules.

im not trying to sell motors...just wanted to bring up that if cyris is selling motors on here they they are legit motors and are coming from an excellent source...if i was selling motors i would put them in the for sale secton matt =)

just pointing out an issue that some people seem to be confused about...the difference in pricing between motorsets and clips..thats all

sorry too fishy, email me if you want to advertise. You can post pictures of YOUR motor only and shout as many praises as you want. No more posting pictures and prices.
