ahhh depressed, also added it to the laundry list of stories in the 'post up ka-t experiences' thread:

I hate to admit or type this but....its all my fault. Setup:

95 KA..approx. 7000mi on engine pre-boostt3/t4 .63 aroil cooler/enlarged,baffled oil panjwt 72lb ecu72lb msd injsafc2avcr (this and my fingers are the culprits)re-worked ebay mani (heat coated in and out, braced)tial 38mm wgrebuilt shimmed oil pumpSPEC stage 3+ clutchturbo xs racing flywheelcrank scraper

After approx. 500 miles, DEAD!! Was running great off of 8lb wg spring (consistent 10 lbs of boost). One day i decide to install an safc 2 and avc-r.....next day KABOOM!! So what happened is that the car was running pretty good but after using my buddies wideband we saw AFR's of 10.5:1 throughout the rpm range. At that point i decided to get an safc 2 for fine tuning. I finally get everything installed but do not know how to adjust/tune the afc or avc and I only have a narrowband afr gauge so i KNOW not to turn up the boost until i get the wideband installed and get it tuned. Well thats not quite what happened. My brother shows up to my house smiling......purchased a new c6 corvette. since my car was finally running we decide we need to go cruising....san diego is the destination (1.5 hr trip). I told myself....do not hit that button if he tries to harass you! about 40 min into trip, im following behind him (same lane) and he steps on it....so do I. At that moment I reach down and turn the avc to setting A----1 bar. Instantly I am pulling on him pretty hard, light show gauge (narrowband afr) says green (rich), seconds later....white smoke...poof! Pull to the side, oil squirting out between transmission and block but car still idles. at this point i was hoping that maybe i just blew out the rear seal or something but after a compression test.....180-90-60-120; motor gone I could kick myself. feels good to know i was faster then the vette (especially way up on the top end) but it feels terrible to know he is still cruisin and im in the garage! Time to build a monster, unless i can find another cheap stock block to beat up on for a while....AFTER tuning this time. Needless to say, after my car was loaded onto the tow truck, my brother looks over and says, "great try, but come c me when u get that s**t fixed, fool!!" Then puts it in first and peels off..... ......like arnold, "i'll b back!!" Anybody have an engine for sale in so-cal???

you should check Z ilvia.com or ka-t.org to see if someone has one. or even craigslist.

HAHAHA thats the same thing i would have done. i am afraid to really go all out with my KA-T until i get some money saved up for when she blows.... but when their is someone next to me laughing at my front mount (really dont know why, maybe ill ask the next person) I go into this robot mode and my foot is stuck to the floor til i blow past him. luckly i am only at 7psi and probably cant hurt anything yet but i know if i had a boost contorller i would be in a world of trouble.

sorry to here about the motor though..

I always kept $400 set aside for when I blow an engine. Got to love the ka's. Got 3 engine's now. all are bad lol rebuilding the original for the 2nd time now.
