18'' vs 19'' tires

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have 19'' tires ,, thinking of going to 18'' because of what I have read about the difference in the ride

Has anyone here made this change going from one size to another ??

I personally haven't driven the EX with 18" or 19" wheels. I've had the 17" wheels from the beginning.

I was able to find a thread about some owner experiences here: feedback-from-owners-running-or-having- ... 87794.html

I had new Infiniti 18" rims and tires put on about 5000 miles ago (I'll have to go through my receipts to get the exact mileage) to replace the aftermarket rims that the previous owner had on the car...I would be interested in doing a trade assuming the 19" you want to get rid of are also Infiniti. I am in Phoenix so it would be easy to meet up at a Discount Tire for the swap. Let me know if you are interested. Below is a picture of the rims.

They are DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX A1-A All Season UHP. They were bought at Infiniti of Peoria in May. They retail for $314 per tire. As of today, they have 5116 miles on them.

I have 18 on EX35 and 19 on QX50....you will loose some handling but ride will be slightly softer.
I preffer the 19...Bridgestone tires are best for noise and always balance perfect.
Just my take ...

I know Infiniti has had people return cars that had 19" wheels/tires because of the more harsh ride .

I am not the type of driver that needs 19" tires and if the 18" ones make the ride a little more pleasant , that's what I am looking for

I have the Dunlops that come as standard equipment on the G37 and I think they are quieter than the bridgestones. They are also a UHP tires though so the rubber is softer.

I am not meaning the ride is noticeably UNpleasant , it is not , 18" tires is the direction I want to go
