Alright guys just a quick question I'm trying to figure out what the best size tires to run on my 300zx TT. I just got some mint condition bronze MB battles 5x114.3 18x9.5+23, 18x8.5+30 are the sizes of the wheels. Now I just gotta find good tires. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas what do you guys like to run? I just upgraded from the stock 16" that I've always been running on the car.

um well rule of thumb is to keep the diameter of the wheels the same from stock so if ur running 18s you can either get a 225/40/18 in the front which will cause strech, 245/40/18 in the rear. or you can run 245/35/18 front and 265/35/18 rear, thats what i would do but also depends on how low ur car is because streching tires is more for lower cars or it will look weird, if ur not lowered id run the 35 sidewall

I've had good experience with BFG g-force SSs in the past. Just bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evos (F- 235/40, R- 265/35) to go on my 18x8.5/18x9.5 wheels. Haven't driven them yet but they have really good reviews. C/D ranked them 2 in its class for performance summer tires:

I've heard great things about the Hankook Ventus V12.

For the sizes you have Shaftinator, because of the +23mm off set in the rear, you may need to go with a 265/35 out back, with a 245/40 up front. That'll be more neutral than a 245/275 anyway, which is good.

I run the Continental Extremecontact DW and I've been very happy thus far, about 3K miles worth.

best tire size is dependent on what you want to do with the car, looks or performance.

Do you want a tire that can perform alittle and last a good while or? do you want total performance

Crap tires that work: General and Kumho

Biggest bang for the buck: F1 and BFG KDW T/A.

Good all around tires:NT05 and Star Spec

Best: RE-11 and Toyo 888

all debatable though depending on experience and what you want the tire to do

Keep in mind that the 245/40 is a little bigger than the stock overall diameter and will rub on the inner fender liners on turns. I just ditched my 245/40's for a 245/35 which is the same size well within 1% of the stock diameter.

With only about 500kms on my new hankook ventus v12 I have had good experiences in heavy rain and warm traction so far, nothing bad to say at all. Good bang for the buck.

Just FYI my 245/40/18s didn't rub on my 18x8.5" +33mm wheels. Off set and width would play a big role in that.

True that, personally I think it's a little too much rubber anyways.

Stock 225-50-16 has a overall diameter: 24.85 in 631.19 mm

245-40-18 has a Overall Diameter: 25.71 in 653.03 mm

245-35-18 has a Overall Diameter: 24.75 in 628.65 mm

The 40 series is almost an inch taller.

I have 245/40/18's all around and i don't rub at all, and i'm dropped like 2 inches (18x9.5 +35). You also have to remember that it may be and inch taller overall but it only a half inch on either side of the hub. Your car would only be a half inch higher off the ground and it would eliminate a half inch of fender gap.

Like I said it's all personal preference, I'd rather keep the stock rolling diameter and lower my coilovers to compensate for extra fender gap.

245/40's only threw my speedo off on anything above 40mph when I had them on my car with the faster you go the further off the speedo gets. I have the hankook v12's on mine now and love them. I would run a 245/265 setup like mentioned or even consider dropping the front to a 235/40.

You're also a little stretched on that 9.5" wheel, so it's not quite as tall as on an 8.5"

I liked the extra wheel protection. Roads around here suck wanker. I run a 255/35 up front now anyway.

Thanks for the input guys, I gotta find some good prices online for the tires. I really wanna get those MB Battles on but I really don't care much for the Falken Azeni's that came with the wheels.

Just yesterday I had the Nismo LMGT4's fitted on my Z. They are 9.5 in wide in all four corners. Ecstatic by the way the looked, but not so happy about the way the front drivers tire sounded rubbing as I went down the road. The front left (drivers) is rubbing pretty bad.

I have 245/40/18 in the front. 275/35/18 in the rear.
Based on robomatic12's post, a 245/35/18 should work? My front tires never rubbed with the stock 225-50-16's.

Mine are 245/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear and are around 1/2 off factory diameter.
