I had the silk road and wheels put on. The car is so low i can't get anyone to align it. I can't get 4 fingers under the frame rails. Way to low, i scrape on everything. Looks good though. I also had 18's with 215/35 tire and it was way to harsh. I couldn't drive on seemingly normal roads without cringing at the thought of what was happening to my baby.

The 18 TE37's are beautiful, i had some old (60ish) woman walking her dog say " nice wheels"It is a shame i am taking them off and selling them. Anyone know where i can get some 16x8 TE37's with a low offset ?

I took it back to them and told them to put it up an inch and put the stock wheels back on. I guess that makes me a PUSS, but the combo of the coils and 35 series tires is just too much.

if you had coils and it was too low to align... why didnt you just raise it up a lil?

how big of drop did you do? I have a body kit and have the tein s tech springs which are 1.5" drop and i can put more than that under mine.btw what did you expect with 18's they look nice but when i put my 18's on i knew my ride would be rough but it wasn't as bad as i anticipated.

why not run larger tires?

the diameter on those is too small...youd be able to keep the 18s then

you can't just get them aligned at your normal mom and pop place... you have to get them aligned at a specialist that work on race cars n such...

for example, theres a Nissan dealership near my house that has an in-gound alignment rack, and no speed bumps in the parking lot toward the garage. Its PERFECT for me

dont blame you for ditching the 18's. iirc i told you not to buy them in the first place, lol.

they look odd on s-13s. im sure you will like the next set you get considerably better since youre more familiar with the diameter and offset you need now.

there was a VERY clean sil80 with white te-37s on here a while back. believe they were 16" wheels, the user was jdmsil80 or something like that. those should be good reference pics for you.

i dont think they make them in the sizes you need, but the te-37 time attacks would look really nice on your car.

I'm pretty sure optionimports.com has TE-37's in all sizes.

Ya i recall that as well, but i wanted to try it because i liked the rims so much. I didn't pay retail so i was fully expecting to re-sell them for at least what i paid if i didn't like them. I am looking for some 16x8 +30 but they only come in 5 bolt. I also find that TE37's just don't look the same in a smaller wheel.

i am also looking at some work wheels equip etc. I have a question about multi piece wheels; can you just take them apart with hand tools and put them back together again?

that's what I wondered for awhile too, cuz I have some 3 peice wheels I wanted to take apart and refinish...

but from what I heard, you can't. You have to take them to a wheel shop to have them professionally taken apart.

so what was your conculsion? Did you end up keeping the te-37s? I think you can pull them off with some aero...btw, 16x8 +30 is for sissies lol

if you can't adjust them yourself, then why bother getting coilovers in the first place... let alone 18" inch with a 35series sidewall. and your don't have to goto a raceshop and get an alignment , thats BS , the fronts should be no problem specially with camber plates, the rear camber is understandable if its not within specs because you need to upgrade the upper arms., the only thing you should need a raceshop for is to get your car corner balanced.

unless your keeping your stock 4x4 status height... yes you do. I've even seen mom and pop alignment shops turn down people with fvckin lowering springs

I don't bother with mom and pop shops considering the machines are not updated, any legit tire shop should have a decent machine., I worked at a BS shop In NC and even that crappy machine had ramps for cars with little clearance. The tire shop I took my car to get aligned had a pretty new machine, with all the ramp attachments , my car is dropped on MR coilovers with 17" 45 series tires, and there is no gap no even a finger between the tire and fender. I had no problems getting it on and having the car aligned back to specs...

theres this alignment shop in socal that everyone goes to called Hiro's... the guy does his alignment by hand and adjusts basically everything for your specific need whether it be drifting, autox'ing, or whatever... it isn't the most super duper acurateness, but its pretty fuching close. may not apply to the OP tho =/

I know the car can pull them off, it looks awesome, it just rides like a $5 whore. +30 is the highest offset for that wheel in 16' So i migth try something 'old skool'.

I didn't take any pics because i only had it like that for an afternoon. After going to 6 places for alignment with no luck, having a final exam to write that afternoon, and leaving for a 5hrdrive to get my car painted, snapping pics was not on my priority list.

I hope to put the 18's back on and slam it in 2 weeks when it gets back from paint. I'll take som picks for the calander then sell the wheels and rais it back up for DD height.

for an 8", I'd look for something around a +10 offset
