Is it possible to fit 18" rims on the S13? I currently have the factory 15" rims with 175 60 15 tires and it looks to me like they come pretty close to the shocks. I planned on buying some 18" Zennettis with 235 40 18 tires, but i'm now having second thoughts...

I'm hoping you mean 195/60/15. And, yes, you can fit 18" wheels on your car. I had a set of 18x7 Enkei RS6 on mine with a +38mm offset and a set of 225/40/18 Yokohama Parada Spec 2s on there.

Jerome is a straight pimp. I'm moving this to the wheels/suspension forum.

repo betta stay outa mah forums. Anyways, yes 18" wheels work, you dont need them, and unless you spend copious ammounts of money(like a guy I just got a set of wheels for on a 1993 RX7) they'll just weoght you down.

fyi: CE28N 18x9.5 only weighs like 15lbs...(rear of the rx-7) cost: 2800 dollars, NOT including tires.-chet

i would.. i have 17" wit a 205/40 on there.. and i have such a huge gap in between my tire and fender.. and i also found out that it ive lost about 5mph with that wheel and tire combo.. get something thatll match the size of ur stock wheels.. i think 18"s would look much cleaner and u can go 225's instead of 205's.. and if ur really worried about gaining an extra 5lbs per wheel then get some weld rims or ssr rims..weld 17" rims r like 11lbs each.. joe

you can get a 235 on a 17" rim on the front anyway....christ. Just use the propper tire fitment to make your speedo accurate(if you care), 18" wheels are heavy, like...typically in the 22lb+range for most wheels, which will make your car slower. as far as fender gap goes, that will be there with a 17" or 18" if you dont know what you're doing, Get the propper tire size and lower the car correctly and you wont have that problem.

To repeat what Chet is saying, big heavy 18" wheels arent exactly a performance upgrade. They usually add more weight than is practical. You could spend dough on some light weight 18" or you could chosse 17" wheels which are generally lighter and definitely cheaper than 18"s.Please tell me for $2800, you at least get a PAIR of those CE28's!?!

Also, you gotta buy tires for these wheels. 18" tires cost a good deal more than 17" tires.I saw a guy at NTB with a Mustang GT with factory 17". He was so upset at the cost of 17" tires, he was considering getting 16" aftermarket rims so he could save dough on the tires. He paid extra for the optional 17" wheels and he was about to even spend more money to get 16" wheels. That is just retarded.

Chet, I know I will have a lot of room under the fender, my concern was the tire hitting the shock...i have about a 1/4" (if that) gap between my tires and the shock right now...

Oh yeah...i do plan on lowering it...I will lower it when I put the rims on, make it all one process...

oh, if you have a small gap between the tire and shock, find a lower offset wheel.

its 2800 for the set, 18x8.5 front and 18x.95 rear, FYI.

so yeah, I run a 17x7.5 30mm offset with 225-45-17's, those fit fine, and Im going to be using a 235-40-17 a032R hard compound once I wear my Pzero's out.-chet

Get 16's ;) even lighter, and a little bit more sidewall to give on those hard drag launches.

Polished aluminum wheels are near impossible to keep a clean, shiny finish on. The trend is leaning away from a completely polished wheel, towards the darker painted, or otherwise finished wheels. Some with the fancy polished lip. But those wheels tend to be of a *rolled* design, basically meaning the spokes are a "cast", and then the outer polished lip(the barrel of the wheel) is welded onto the spokes, creating(in very basic terms) a multi-piece wheel.

This design isn't as strong as, say, forged or one piece cast wheels, and some of the "rolled" wheels have a very thin, very weak polished aluminum lip. But according to the "just wanna make the car pimp" comment, wheel strength/load capacity isn't a concern.
