I am planning to buy a used 2000-02 infiniti (I30/I35) or maxima. I guess the 20" rims fit well but I have heard that ride may not be too comfortable and that the tires don't last too long. Anyone has experience about the comfort level/fuel efficiency with using the larger rims. Which size do you recommend overall? Thanks

Welcome to NICO!

Not that you would be tracking the car or anything, but the largest wheel in performance aspects would be 18". Typically, an 18 with 225 40 tires will meet your stock wheel height. Tire life on a low pro will be short no matter what.

Also your choice in wheels will make a difference.

Ive had 18's and 19's, and my cousin has 20's. I have experience with each of them. each of these cars are lowered18's-cheaper tires, more choices in wheels and tires, better cornering, much comfier ride, IMHO a bit to small19's- most expensive tires of the group(they are odd), not many choices in tires, decent ride, low pros mean no fast corners, IMHO perfect size20's-just a little cheaper than 19's(not much), easier to find than the 19's not easy as the 18's though, again low pros no fast corners, horrible ride, IMHO too big

low pros are great for cornering tho lol. I have had 17-19 and i am stuck between my 18's and 19's. I daily drive the 19's, track the 18's and when i drag i use 15's .

Thanks guys for all the replies. I guess I would go with either the 18" or the 19".

I am running 18's on my 01 max. I just can't imagine going with 20's. Plus are you planning on putting a lowering kit?

Be sure to price out tires for 19"... they are more expensive... if you can afford the cost of tires every few seasons, go for it.

I'd say it all depends on what you are going for, looks performance or both? I will say this, I have 20's and I can slam some corners!!!
