My new 18 has some minor changes to my 15. Some good...some....

On the nav they now have an overlay with apps that are really just shortcuts. I like the look...too bad the monitor is still low res. :/ Because of the telematics I get the most annoying "information being transmitted" every time I start the car. Can't find how to turn it off. Reminds me of my previous Infinitis nav warning that had to be disabled.

Also - this car seems to have a more flinty ride quality than I remember on the 15. Wonder if its because the steel belted run flats have sat for so long (since the car was manufactured) and are still slightly out of round. I was planning on using them for a bit before swapping to Michelins...but maybe I won't wait. Any thoughts? It could be just that I am used to a S6 and that feel.

The steering is also very light - even in sport mode. And I miss the wifi I had in the Audi. But it was not that good and 20 a month. I can get a mobile unit for that if I needed to.

I think they added additional sound insulation between 15 and 18. In my 15 i did dynamat in doors, trunk, trunk lid, under back seat and under the 4 footwells. Might still do that. When I was installing the aero sills I could see wheel well liners that were feltish in texture...

I'm excited for my spacers, springs, strut bar install - hopefully tomorrow or Friday. Hopefully that will sharpen the ride a bit without compromising the ride quality...which I like. So much better than the S6 for these CRAPPY Dallas roads.

Other than so far so good in m 400 miles of driving. lol

Maybe you'll just have to get use to the car, going from an Infiniti to Audi and back may take some time. In some automakers, they make drastic changes in vehicles in an effort to try to keep up with the latest trend, you could be experiencing this as well. They say change is a good thing and I agree to a certain extent but not in all matters.

I bet ur like a kid in a Candy store just waiting to mod ur New Baby!!!. Keep us posted and good look my brother.

Run flats suck. Ditch em. When shopping on TireRack I also disable them from being shown. I will NEVER consider them.

I think Tanabe - lol. The guy at my custom shop and I were talking and I can't remember what I chose. I will tomorrow at 10 am when they are installed!

Hey - anyone have the Infiniti sport exhaust installed? There is only one video on YouTube but its really hard to tell what the sound is really like. I do miss the burble of my twin turbo v8 S6. :/

I think it's better to go for a stillen axle back for that price. Try the topspeed exhaust too that's the one im planning on getting soon its around 600 for a full catback. Stillen is 900 for catback, 600 for axleback.

Just did my Eibach ProKit drop. On the fence about it. Both looks and driving feedback wise. I know they are progressive, but it feels a bit odd.

I found the file from my 2015 so i could see all the mods I had done for that one...beyond what I posted here. I found that I had done Eibach first, switched to Tanabe, liked Tanabe better...and then went back to stock due to all the issues I was having getting in and out of Los Angeles garages (due to severe elevation changes). Especially with wider/taller tires.

Since this is my daily driver while I look for a '15 GTR - I probably should have just put the strut bar, rear sway, and spacers with new tires and called it a day. lol

Was the drop not enough for you, how much did it end up going down post some pics if you can. As far as I heard the springs feel similar to stock suspension and better in the corners. Thanks for the feedback probably gonna end up buying some springs anyway can't live with my wheel gap lol.

I think the drop is fine...there is just something I don't like about it. I can't put my finger on it. I'm also worried abut the 25mm spacer in the rear combined with a wider tire. :/

Springs are so inexpensive...the install is a bit pricey. lol

I'm running OEM sport wheels with 25mm spacers and 255/40 rear tires. No issues with fitment.

I put the stocks back on. I didn't mind the ride...very close to stock. As with a lot of Infinitis I have had...once I did the drop the passenger seat vibrates even more. And its all the way down to floor. I could feel the road more than I want to for this car's purpose. I got a little worried with the drop about rub with the below tires/spacers...and also the road issues here. I ditched the S6 due to those issues...

I'm putting 255/40 Michelin PS 4S today on all corners. 25mm spacers arrive tomorrow. Then I think just the Tanabe rear sway (if I can find out how to get it imported again) and I'm good for a while. Soul function said a G35/G37 sedan midpoint brace won't fit...but I doubt they even checked the specs. Its the same platform... :/

The 25mm are not bad in the back. AND SO MUCH easier than swapping studs! Left the front stock for a few days while I contemplate the front...

Also - back to stock springs...i'm wondering if any one has done stock in the rear and slightly lowered in the front? Wondering how having different springs/spring rate for front to back would affect handling and stance.

If you are interested I have Ichiba NS-50220 spacers I don't need, these are 20mm but they require the stud replacement.

Also is there any reason not to go with the Tanabe springs again? This Q is a 3.7?

Thanks for the offer - but I have a full set of 25mm now...and decided not to do the bolt replacement type right now.

No reason on the springs...the guy at my shop, who mainly does GTRs, thought I would like the Eibachs better. I didn't hate them ride wise (altho I could tell the road was transmitting more information - the passenger seat was vibrating more...lol). It was really more about handling and appearance - but with the drop the rear wheels looked even more recessed.

In a few months I'll revisit the ride height...i might pop the Eibach fronts on - stock back...just as a test. For some reason the car seemingly rides a very level or just a smidge higher in the front. Drives me nuts when i look at it.

And it's a 3.7

The springs differences are:

Tanabe:
Front Lowering: 0.9in
Rear Lowering: 0.5in
Front Spring Rate: 6.2kg/mm
Rear Spring Rate: 2.6kg/mm

Eibach ProKit:

Notes:
- Front Drop 1.2"
- Rear Drop 0.8"

.3 should not even be noticeable...but somehow I think it is. :/

These cars definitely do sit high, particularly the AWD ones. Being a 2WD 3.7 is the lightest, any spring you choose will probably not go as low as it could (assuming yours is in fact 2WD). I guess you'll have to test out springs and find what suits you best.

Even 1/4" is noticeable to me. Every brand sits a little different.

I'm going to call my mod shop this week and see what they say about using stock springs in the rear and then eight my Eibachs or order some Tanabes and then drop the front.

It can't hurt to ask...
