So i threw on a set of OEM 18" rims from a 350z on my 2004 Infiniti I35 recently...the ride sucked because at 65-80 MPH the steering wheel and the gas pedal were shaking....Even after balancing it was still the same...so i swapped out the rear rims to the front and the front rims to the rear... Even though the steering wheel shaking was almost gone, the gas pedal is still shaking at those speeds.

Has anyone had problems with 18's on their I30/I35??

My mechanic told me 2 of the rims were hard to balance because they seemed a tiny bit bent...so it must be the rims

Im going to put the 2 "good" rims on the front today or this weekend and see what happens...

Any input?

Sounds like you're all over it. I hope the person didn't sell you jacked up wheels.

Either you have some wheels that are slightly bent or you have some tires that have seperation issues.

Did you install spacers? If they are not hubcentric then you can expect a little shaking at higher speeds. Have you had your car aligned recently?

Factory 350z rims would be hub centric so that should not be an issue.

A good tire place will tell you if your tires are worn weird. If thats no the issue the rims are bent.

Read my post before you reply. If you install spacers then not being hubcentric will be an issue regardless of whatever rim you put on your car.The only way around this is to install ichiba hubcentric spacers.
