I got a set of 17x9 +42 for pretty cheap, didn't know the offset before I got them (otherwise I would have passed), suspension is stock with KYB gr2 shocks. Would these fit? Is there any limitation to my tire size?

I placed one of them on one of the front wheels and it didn't hit the suspension but I don't know if there is anything else I need to check for before I spend money on new tires and work on reconditioning them?

Those would fit alright for the rear, but they'd be sunken. No way they're fitting up front.

Could I use a 10mm or 20mm spacer up front so they could work, is there any downside to doing that besides the cost?

I'm new to this so someone tell me if my wheel math is right:

15mm spacer front, would make the offset +27 right? (42offset-15spacer) which seems to be an acceptable offset for a 9in wheel.

The rear I'm thinking I will put them on and see how they look, may look at spacers down the road to make them more flush.

If that is correct, what tire size should I run? 225/45 or 235/40?

First off... go search google shopping for the cost of 15mm and 30mm(ish) bolt-on spacers. You're gonna be spending over $300 just on spacers on top of what you paid for the wheels. Not such a cheap deal now, huh?

Plus some wheels can't work with anything less than a 30mm spacer if the wheel doesn't have holes in the back of its mounting surface to fit your factory studs through.

It's too much trouble, if me ask me. I'd sell those wheels and get something like 17x9+20 all around. There's alot of these wheels around for cheap if you're still 4 lug.

yep going with spacers isnt always the best option because of that issue, the offset is low, you can usually tell a high offset wheel with a spacer just by looking at it, it might not look bad but it might not look good never know id personally get rid of them and get something with a low offset

but yes you are right about your math, it would make them a +27 which isnt badf but for the back we really look more for like 9" with a 0 offset to be looking pretty good

as for tires, 205 40 or 215 40 in the front and 215 40 or 45 i suppose or 225 40 or 45 in the back

but the tire choice if your going for flushness you just pick the tire in the back that makes it flush and one in the front that dosnt rub a whole lot

turns out the wheels are 17x7, kind of pisses me off when I thought they were 17x9 but at least they will work now.

Whoa... thats a big mistake. Get rid of them. Even running stock is better than sizes that bad...
