Will a 17x9 26mm offset rim fit on an s14? I know people have used Mustang rims on the s14s with much luck, but I don't know what the exact offset was that they used. So If anyone uses those all around, can you show pics of how they stick/don't stick out, and look in general? Only post a pic of this or similar offset/sized wheel, i.e.: if it is a 17x8 it would do little good.I am mostly wondering if they will fit well enough in the frotn withotu sticking otu to much, and whether they will fill out the back enough withotu looking too deeply set in.The wheel size calculator says this (http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp):

Stock size: 16 x 6.5", 40mm offset

17 x 9", 26mm offset - Inner clearance: 16mm lessOuter clearance: 46mm more extension outward.

What do you guys think?

I think it would be great. FN01R's come in 17x9 +20, so you'd have slightly less clearance to the strut.

Here's some of what I found searching for "S14 offset"

zerothread?id=146114http://forums.nicoc ... ?id=126841

And if you read through them, they give you information on fitments, tire widths, clearance and camber.

I am always confused when people say "won't clear coilovers"does this mean it would clear regular stock spring/shock combo? or it won't clear the inside at all because it's too close to the strut assembly?confusing because the coilovers on 240s are usually skinnier (diameter wise) than the regular spring/shock comobs, so they should clear wider wheels.... right?

OH! just got a great hint from someone, the shocks/springs ARE wider, but they are above the wheel, because the bottom of the strut housing is higher than the tire. So the coilovers ARE skinnier as such, but they are sitting right next to the tire.

This person also told me (and I've seen it, just didn't know) that he ran a 17x8 with a 38 mm offfset. this means that hee has SEVENTEEN(17!!) mm less clearance on the inside, compared to my proposed offset of 26 which is 18mm, only 1mm more, BUT I am running shocks/springs not coilvers, like he did.So it SHOULD work. Without coilovers, like you said McRusselPants. but for those I could just get a small spacer. Of course I'd have to roll and stretch the crap out of my fenders... Well worth it I'll update you guys when I try this.

Also thanks for the links, but they all mention different offsets from what I plan on, people saying that 17x9 with a 15 and 20 offset will clear but nothing about 26.... I was starting to think about the 17x8, but that would kill my plans.... I really like the cobra replicas witht heir 17x9....I'm still re-searching as well, but I could always use some more hints.

Not really, anything down to a +15 on a 9J is an easy fit on S14s. Fender roll only.

I thought Coilovers were the ones that were wider in diameter, thats why some wheels won't clear it. I could have sworn that when I put my coilovers next to my stock shock assembly the Tein's were actually thicker than the stock shock/strut?

I am talking about the shock on the coiover not the spring

^ I think youre right.

^^ Real Ford wheels are better than those low quality, heavy knockoff wheels.

But the knockoffs cost half the price, and they all weigh about 24-26lbs per wheel in that size. For the size (17x9) and price ($450 shipped), they really are the best bang for the buck.

Also, read my discovery in regards to coilovers. Yes the shock of the coilover may be thicker than stock, but that doesn't impact the clearance as much as the fact that the actual spring on the coilover (which is way thicker than the shock) starts lower than on a spring/shock combo. The spring in spring/shock combo sits on top of the wheel, while the spring in the coilover setup sits NEXT TO the wheel. Hence less clearance with the coilover. How much less depends on the coilover, although they are usually pretty generic, unless one uses a 30mm shock body and another uses a 40 (or even 45)mm shock body.
