Wheel fitment noob here. I am looking at a set of 17x8.5 +12 F 17x9.5 +13 R for my s13 hatch. +20mm F fenders. Stock r fenders. Ideally i want to run a 275 or 265 tire in the rear. Would a 275/35 fit? Id run whatever tire would fit w/o mods in F. What mods would i need to do to fit?

You're not gonna fit that much under the rears.

I can't recall the exact specs on my setup, but I ran 275/40/17 under a VERY stretched rear fender on my S13 vert WITH bolt-on flares.

appreciate the reply.

Basically i want to get a wider tire in the rear without adding over fenders and crazy camber.

What would you recommend? Is it the wheel specs that are preventing a 275 or is a 275 just too wide for stock body? Would that wheel work with a 255?

No, a 9.5" wheel is fine for that width (barely).

If there was an easy answer, everyone would simply copy that setup.

17x9.5 +12 is gonna be into the fender lip unless you do a roll/pull and run a stretched tire (235/40), or don't lower it much.

Stick to a less aggressive setup unless you really value looks over usefulness.

I'm planning on running one of those two widths on my hatch - currently have bought 275s to test fit width before I buy a wheel and it'll be a challenge if not impossible.

That being said - Broadfield has lots of experience with really wide tires on factory rear fenders (rolled and pulled in various stages) on his S13 --> https://broadfield.wordpress.com/catego ... ls-brakes/
