is it possible to fit 235/40/17 on the front of a s13 with a +35 offset? will it have any rubbing issues on the strut cause i have 235/45/17 right now and it looks like a really tight fit

Ummm, they'll be the same.

You'll just reduce height.

I ran 255/40/17 on mine for 6 months with a 5mm spacer (same size / offset).

A 235/40 will be a square to bulging sidewall you may want to run a spacer. I run a 225/45 on a 17x8 w +22. Perfect size all ways. Also I try to keep my tire diameters under 25" Cant remember my reasoning for that tho, but I am pretty sure I had a reason.

so its possible to run 235/40's in the front?i know the overall diameter would be the same but i was wondering if it would hit the shocks or not.

Youre confused.

The sidewall on the 235/45 is going to be taller than a 235/40. The width will be the same, but the overall diameter of the tire will be less if you switch to a 235/40.

yeah, that too

to fit coilovers with that size youll need 215/45/17, for future reference

blah, i must've have been drunk when i made that post. i meant i have 215/45/17's on my car right now (17x8 +35).

i am planning on getting 17x9 +20 and run 235/40/17 series on front and rear and was wondering if there would be any rubbing issues or any modifications such as rolling the fenders, etc. i am lowered on tein stech and kyb agx btw.

sorry for the confusion ...

roll your fenders, probably a small pull so you can run around -2 front -1.7ish rear camber specs

you might not even need the pull with springs, but better to get it overwith if you ever get coilovers

It depends on coilovers I guess. Mine cleared with no problems.235/40 RT-615s on 17x8 +38 wheels.
