Yes! 205/45-17 is too narrow for an 8" rim width - the recommended rim width range is 6.5"-7.5" for that tire width.

So, 215/45-17 is the minimum tire width I would use for that wheel. But, I do not know if this wheel and tire would fit on your car or not - I am merely commenting on the tire-to-wheel issue.

The sizes I mentioned are what I currently run on mine.

Good. In case it is not clear, I was agreeing with your earlier post about the sizes! I just did not know about specific car fitment - thanks for clearing that up.

i run 235/40 all around on my 17X8s i dont know why you would want to stagger the tire size, it will just remove the ability to rotate the tires. not sure about the coilover fitment tho

Front coilover clearance will depend on the brand of coilover. Some have more than others, so its hard to say. Generally you want less than ET30 for a 8j wheel, so you'll be cutting it very close. I don't see why you want to stretch skinny tires on relatively narrow sunken wheels though. If you're into the "drift" look, just get 17x9 +20 all around and stretch tires. If you want properly sized tires for grip driving, get similar sized wheels with at least a 225/45 on front. Maybe get those 17x8 +35 and some spacers? That's not really a great size for anything, you might be better off with different wheels. I'm assuming you're talking about FNs

Hi, turtl631.

If the correct offset is +20 for this car, then I agree! Like you said, the original poster should get the right wheel instead. While they are commonly used, spacers often cause more problems than they solve - structural integrity, balance, etc.

If a 17x8 +20 is the right size wheel, then buy it, rather than a 17x8 +35 with a 15mm spacer to try to get the same effective offset result.

ya im more into grip driving then drifting. so you think i should run 225/45s all the way around? or stagger it?

and yes i am talking about the FNs

sry for all the questions -.-

215/45-17 on 17x8 +35 will clear your coilovers perfectly.215/45-17 is the correct overall diameter to match your OEM gear ratio.225/45-17 on 17x8 +35 will not clear your coilovers. (front)A proper package is tucked, even if only a little.Leave stretching and flush fads to our friends down south..

Why such a massive rear tire?215/45-17 is the same diameter as stock.A 235/45-17 will actually slow your acceleration because taller tires change what is called the effective axle ratio. If you MUST do wider in rear, consider a 40-series to give you closer to OEM diameter, and help keep some of your torque.

yes. it will work fine, and the benefit of rotating tires is so underrated.

this is very true. the 5zigen +35 17x8's need a 5mm spacer with the KTS coilovers.

It has more to do with the collar placement (how low your car is) than brand. If you must have the would-be jdm scraping on everything look, then you will have fitment problems. The coilovers are actually designed to allow clearance for nearly every modern wheel design. Dumping the car to the ground is the limiting factor.

8" +35 FN8"+30 rays

In the first picture, a 215/45-17 tucks under the collar very nicely and is the best all around hassle free, everyday driver kind of fitment. In the second picture, the +5 extra gives plenty of room for wider tires.

Most coils are the same diameter. In the years I've been on here and other sites, I still haven't seen anybody put up a confirmed list of coil diameters.
