it should work, but may scrub some coilovers, since the inner lip will be closer the the damper a bit..but it *should* work.-chet

Ok. I have some questions(I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread for some simple questions):

1) Generally, how much bigger are coilovers than stock suspension?

2) When people say "they'll scrub coilovers", does that mean it'll rub against the coilovers in the front only? or in the rear as well? My understanding was that wider wheels can be fitted in the rear because they're stationary.

..uhh I guess that's it.

please don't flame me for being a nooooobbb :)

its nopt so much that the rear wheels are staitionary, its that you have more clearance form inner lip to-damper in the rear than the front, just take a look for yourself under you car..

when I say "Scrub" it means the inner edge of the tire will hit the outer edge of the damper on the front(or rear, if they're relaly dumb and picked a messed up offset)/

also, coilover diameter actually depends on manufacturere, some are 40mm, others 45, and still others even 50mm...

I would think any aftermarket coil over like tein or something simular, would have to be smaller than the stock strut and spring setup, that thing is huge.

215 on a 8" wide rim? really? Is that a good idea? Im trying to determine a good wheel/tire combofor my girlfriends 98 240sx se, which is currently using mustang gt rims (dont laugh!)

The problem with coilovers is that the spring perch and the spring itself are located much further down than the OEM setup, which is mounted over the wheel. Thats why you get rubbing problems... and it's mainly in the front.
