Ok so i got my eye on some xxr 006 rims staggered. The rears are 17x9+20 offset but for the front there are 2.
They have 17x7+40 and 17x8+25. I want to go with 17x7+40 and i been reading different opinions on the fitment. I know they will fit but will they clear my future coilovers? Can i use spacers on the front will they clear and be more flush?
So basically the rims would be 17x7+40 1.75" lip front and 17x9+20 2.50" lip rears how about it? Mainly worried about front ones fitment.

i never understood why anyone would put a set of wheels on a car and stagger them when you can fit the same size on the front and not have any problems....17x9 +20 all around, BUT i will also say this....

a stock bodied car looks SOOOOOOOOOO much better lowered on stock wheels than at stock height with decent wheels....food for thought ( the message is to get the coilovers first)

If you're gonna get those, get them all four the same (17x9).

Don't do 17x7 +40 up front, that wheel is way too skinny with way too high of an offset to look good at all. If you're dead set on a staggered setup, you definitely want the 17x8+25.

What do you mean by hit? If you mean will it rub... maybe not. I can't say for sure, but this guy http://www.rimtuck.com/setup.php?id=936 is running those wheels and says his fenders are untouched.

If you mean will they clear your coilovers, my guess would be probably. Again, I can't really say for sure because I'm just eyeballing it.

17x7 +40 is a Honda wheel, and will look utterly retarded on any S-chassis.

BTW, those wheel suck worse than any wheels I've ever seen. How do I know? I had a set. The "stainless rim" is actually an overlay. I dropped a tuner lug key on it AND IT DENTED. Not cool.

They never did stay balanced, either. No wonder.

Skip those pieces of crap and save up for something that's not gonna fall apart. I'd buy used GOOD wheels over new CRAP wheels.

yeah dont get something you will end up regretting. just get coils and slam it on stockies for now. you would be a poser if you were 4x4 height with aftermarket wheels.

OP, see sig for wheels with better fitment. Do DFW proud.

And yes, 17x9+20 will clear coilovers.

ok how about 17x8 25 offset fronts? better? i think thats a go. And i just dont see my self spending to much money on rims tho. 600 is my limit for that. Im not a cheap guy, but when it comes to rims i just see my self spending 1000 or even 2000 on rims :iconeek

Yeah, that'll look a lot better. I understand how you feel about the money thing; There are a lot of things I'd buy before I spent a ton of money on wheels. You ought to go check out rimtuck--browse through the pictures on there and decide what you like (after all, that's what's important).

What tires sizes do you plan on running?

And is there any particular reason you don't want to just get the 17x9+20 all around? It's only $33 more if you use NL Motoring... Or even the 18x9.5+35's with 20mm spacers for the rear? Seriously, it's not that expensive at all.

he may just be skeptical about what will actually fit without hassel...i mean, once upon a time i wouldve laughed at someone had they told me they were going to be slammed on low offset 17x10's in the front...now im like "meh"

or maybe hes coming from a fwd background? who knows.

OP, check out the sites simmode has in his sig. they will help tons. also, someone posted the rumtuck page, check that out too. if i were you id spend just a little bit more and do it right the first time because your buying new wheels, not just someones old busters...if your buying new, buy the good s*** (width/offset)

would a 17x9 +35 fit all around with coilovers or go +20 up from and +35 in the back. I currently have 17x9 + 15 all around with 235/40-17 up front and 245/40-17 on the rear. I'd like the rears to sit inside thhe wheel well more. Wouldn't mind ditching the hellaflush setup on the front either. I prefer tire beyond wheel, not wheel beyond tire.

I like a staggered set up myself. 275-40-17 on a 9 inch +35 rear. I run a 17x8+31 front I wish they were +20 or +25 though with a 225-45-17

I definitely wouldn't do +20 in the front and +35 in the rear. The higher that the offset is the "less flush" the wheel will be. Maybe you would want to consider switching those around. If it were me though, I'd just run the same size/offset all the way around.

I want to say that +35 should clear coilovers. Personally, I think that 9" width and +35 offset looks perfectly fine on these cars. It definitely won't give you the "hellaflush" look, but it doesn't look bad either. Of course, if I were going to run +35 offset, I would be iffy about running an 8" width and wouldn't go anywhere near a 7".

think ahead on the offset.. if u ever decide to upgrade to 300zx brakes keep in mind that u may have to use a spacer depending on the offset u get so if u get a lower offset wheel u dont have to mess with getting longer studs, less money u have to spend..

I'd leave the front specs alone. Fitting a 235/40 on that wheel is pretty close to the maximum amount of rubber you're gonna fit under stock front fenders. Trying to go up to 245's or 255's up front and keep your stock fenders is alot of work. But for the rears, I'd say try to find a wheel with specs like 17x10+25 or 18x10+25ish. Wrap that in a 255 tire...

HAHA yes i know about my avatar i just like it. But really im not cheap. Yes i do come from the FWD family as i own a 1991 Crx si haha. I only buy the best for my Crx tho. Yes im new to RWD and im trying to learn. I want those rims because i just love the small lip in front and big lip on the rear, and they are cheaper than the SSR professor sp1 i wanted before haha. I thought they were 800 for all 4,till i saw it was each rim :iconeek What size of tires would ya recommend me running in front and rear for the 17x8+25 offset and on the rear 17x9+20 offset. Also ill be running some coilovers too, ill be getting KW v3s
And here is my build thread for my Crx if anyone would like to see.

I didn't list it, but I have the 300zx brakes/rotors on the front. I may just leave the fronts alone and go from a +15 to a +35 offset on the rears. I haven't decided yet. I need to either have the current 5Zigen wheels re-finished or buy new ones. The clear coat is coming off.
