17X7.0 FRONT AND 17X9.0 REAR, is that too much??????

im currently running on 225/35ZR19 for my 1990 240sx, but the road is really bad and the car is shaking bad.i found 2 different set of wheels, and i would like some opinion for my future wheels.

Size: 17"x7"Offset: +40mmTires: 225/45/17

or

Size: 17 X 7.0 Front, 17x9.0 RearOffset: 38MM FRONT, 35MM REARTires: 225/45R17 Front, 245/40R17 Rear

also, i do have a 300zx brakes upgrade, will i need any speacer for those?

The second set sound like Sportmax 962's. I'm almost positive they clear Z brakes, but you can do a search and find out. They are VERY common wheels. But the offsets are the greatest IMO. Running a 7" front and 9" rear stagger is a little much. If you want a staggered set (wider rears than fronts), try for something with 1-1.5" difference (ie 17x8 f and 17x9r). Remember staggered fitments limit your ability too rotate the tires.

I would also pass on the first set. I think 7" is too narrow when buying aftermarket wheels. My personal minimum is 8" wide...

so sportmax 962 will fit on my car,but will it look too big in the rear since its 17x7F, 17x9R?
