The offset and width is the reason they won't clear coilovers. IIRC, if you want to clear coilovers, don't go any closer than +40 with a 7" wheel. Use the wheel offset calculator to test various wheels against this base case.
Clearing z-brakes is a lot trickier. Basically, you want a thin spoke design that curves inward before it attaches to the rim. You also want a low offset, wide wheel, with little lip. With a wide wheel and small lip, you can have a higher offset to clear the brakes compared to a thin wheel with small lip.(you'd need a low offset)
This is why those old-school mesh drifting rims don't clear the brakes. They're usually a thin wheel, with a low offset, but has a retardedly big lip. This big lip is what is creating the low offset, not the hub-mounting point of the wheel.
