I took my wifes 2000 Anniversary model in for a 45000 mile warranty service. To my surprise he said he would replace my !7" wheels with new ones because of a possible weakness where the bolts are attached.

I haven't heard about this before, so any of you with these wheels (five spoke Q45T) might want to get in touch with a dealer.

Now I have $2000.00 new wheels and they look great.

This is for real, even Tire Rack has been on the boards warning about it. There was a set of wheels in the last week on ebay for sale, I emailed the sellor about the recall, he checked with his dealer and cancelled the auction after confirmation by the dealer. We can only hope the rest of the world will be so honest. This is a serious recall the rim can separate from from the hub which can obviously cause a lack of control.

Interesting...I believe the wheels you speak of are also the same ones used on 2000-2001 I30t's. So any of you I30t guys out there might want to check in on this too.

I wish I would've seen that auction - I'd have bought 'em and then swapped 'em.

I want a set of chromed 17" 5-spoke Q45 Touring rims BAD!!!!!

No...no. Sell them to me.

Can't beat forged BBS for weight to strength ratio, unless you can get forged magnesium.

NHTSA has this recall listed for '00 Qs, but not for the I30t. I also thought this was the same wheel?

She had to endure a long, rough winter. :)

After spending six hours buffing the outer lip on those bad boys, they'd better still be shiny! :D

No, they are just 16"s, but they made them in 17's too. I plan to put 17"s on my current Q45.

Geoff,

Did you have the one piece or two piece operas? and how heavy were they.

Im looking to buy a set of those now for my J. Either 17 or 18. Probably the onpiece Opera I. Let me know what you thought of them. Oh and what size you ran and with what size tires.

I had the one piece because the two piece was a lot more expensive. If I recall, they were fairly light or at least lighter than stock. I ran 225/55/16 Dunlop SP5000 Z-rated. These tires were awesome. lots of grip, response, and life. Got about 35k miles outta them tires. With 17"s would have run 235/50/17, or maybe even 235/45/17.

this is the best price I've found the one piece at in a 17, but you are right about the 2 piece, they are twice as much - around 1800 for the set. I think I am going to get these this summer.

I wish Tirerack still carried these. I paid $1,200 total, incl shipping, for the set of 16" OZ Operas with the Dunlops mounted and balanced. You might shop around some, but not sure if you will find a better deal or not. If you do, post to NICO becuase I REALLY want a set of the 17"s for the 95Q45t is just bought. I hated to leave OZs on the '93, but that is what sold the car for a $1500 over blue book.

I have the 2000 I30t, and the wheels are exactly the same as the Q45t.

No recall letter, yet. Although, I sold the wheels on eBay, and replaced them with the chrome 2002 Q45 wheels.

If the recal comes in, I will need to notify the guy who bought my wheels.

One bad thing about buying and selling OEM parts on eBay.
