I'm mounting new tires (17x7.5 wheels) and I'm looking for opinions on the above tires.

245/45s

Are there any issues with the Goodyears vibrating on G50s? I read a post that Q45tech wrote saying that G50s do best with Michelins.

everything ive heard is that the GSD3's are every bit as good as the PS2s except cheaper..

Both are a splendid choice, i know that Z has them on his M45 and likes them a lot....

If one cares about midlife noise and vibrations, the choice is a non directional Michelin.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 is perhaps not as good as the Michelin Pilot PS2, but is better than the Pilot Sport and Pilot Sport AS. The Eagles are also substantially less expensive than the PS2.

I use the Goodyear Eagle 245/45-18 in a 100W rating and like them a lot. Their wet handling and braking is outstanding and dry handling and braking is very good to excellent.

Lasted just over 20k miles on my last set and I replaced with the same ... mostly because there was a special on them at Tire Rack - four tires cost (net including a $100 cash card rebate) about $734, including shipping. A heck of a deal!

The 245/45-17 ought to be lower cost too ... in both brands and models. Lots of available tires in that size. Please see my detailed spreadsheet posted here somewhere ...

Someday, I will try out the Michelin PS2 as well ...

The Bridge 050A Pole Positions are no slouch too, my friend just put them on his Porche. I have the 050A from last year, got them for $141 a tire in 245/35 19 at closeout from Tire Rack, they are great. I have run lots of Bridgestones and I think they wear as well as Michelins and are always quiet. I have the S03 Pole Positions on my 300ZX and love them there too.

Probably true. Personally, if you are going this quality, I would recommend a wheel with greater width so you can get a full size tire on it. Worth it for increased performance including extended wear.
