OK, I know this might sound kinda odd, but i can't really find any info on this and I'm a noob at wheels and tires so here it goes... Would it be a bad idea to put a 17" rim in the front and 18" rim in the rear? What tire size would be good for 17x9 and 18x9.5? The reason I ask is because the stock Rays come in an 18"/19" combo, and besides the difference in widths and diameters, would it be bad to do this kind of setup in an inch smaller size?

...P.S. Let me apologize now if this sounds kinda dumb...

you could do it fine & not have to worry about your VDC / TCS freakin out since you got a base, but your not really gainin anything by doing it.

that & it would be tougher to sell, should you get tired of it down the road. why not just go 18X9 F / 18X9.5 R or something? but hey, nothin wrong with it.

as for tire size, just "tire calc" lotsa handy apps out there for figurin it up.

Yea I understand, selling that setup would be a pain, but it's just that 19" tires are so damn expensive... they cost more than 20's...lol... but anyways I wanted to know if that setup would look funny or if it would be compatible ... so let's just say, If I went with 17x9f and 18x9.5r, what size tires would be recommended for that setup?

Thanks for your input!

I think you will find that the 17s up front will look too small. The reason the 18's and 19's work is because of the wheel size. 18x9 and 19x10 is nice.....you will not get the same effect, you are better off with 18's all around if you want to save money on tires. Imagine my wheels an inch smaller up front....look at my sig. 18 all around looks good, No?

Yea that's a good point, I was just kinda curious how that would work out... so if the setup was an 18f/19r would the sidewall size have to be smaller in the rear?(40/18f-35/19r)

You can't rotate the stock wheels anyway on account of the width, so if you want a staggered fit, try it, but the front fenderwells are *huge*. I would at least go with the same diameter as large as is possible with the factory offerings for the front, which is what? 19's now? Know what I mean?

If Volk offers a staggered diameter and width wheel, they also have a recommended tire size. I'd go for those if nothing else as a starting point.
