I saw an ad in the paper for a set of 350Z 17" factory wheels with new tires. Looks like a set of take offs for $495. I need new tires any way.

Will they work? Might look cool too and on the cheap.

Thanks, Matt

What do you think of the price?

Elwesso,

Will they look stupid?

Will they rub?

Will they change the speedo much?

Do you think it would handle better with the wider tires?

And since you said they will fit, I assume the bolt pattern is the same.

And lastly, will they harm the already poor mileage or decrease braking ability with stock calipers on SP slotted rotors?

And most importantly, will the wife have a cow?!

Thanks, Matt

1. I think theyll look great2. no3. no4. Yes, however its notbecause the tires are wider, its because they are better 5. obviously6. Shouldnt, i guess in theory they might but i doubt if youd actually be able to tell a difference7. I cannot predict that

tight fit but man these things handle soo much better!

hey elwesso, i thought bigger tires would most definately mess the speedo up, does it at all?

They do, however, its so little youd hardly notice..... Stock tire diameter is 26in. 245-45-18 have a 26.7 or so (actual OD depends on the tire brand). So at worst, figure the speedo will be off by about 3-4%, which youd never actually notice..... 4MPH at 100MPH.

Drape you should have just rolled the front fender.

Hers what the 350Z 17s look like

I'm going to try to get a look at them tommrow. They are off a 2004. Guy says the fronts have very little wear and the backs have more. It will depend on the tire wear for me. If it can put off a set for at least a year I'll do it. If I've got to re-skin these very soon I'll pass, unless he really comes down.

They look cool!

Drape, I'm guessing I won't rub with 17s if you barely do with 18s.

Thanks for the help

Matt
