Ok so since I dont have the money for a disco potatoe or a bb t28 I wanna use the big 16g from a DSM so my question is would I be albe to use one of those adapter plates that they sell for a t25 to 16g flange or a t3 to a 16g flange or would it hit something all I know is that 16g's kicks a** so come on give me some opinions maybe someone has already tried this.

I'm interested too.

Found this huge thread which I'm still reading, trying to fit an Evo8 Twin Scroll turbo. I guess thats a 16g or similar.

As far as I know they do not exist, but I guess one could make one pretty easily. No reason why they don't exist, just that I have looked in the past and was unsuccessful.

A custom manfiold might be the way to go because the CA stock manifold is configured differently. I just looked at my 14B and a CA manifold and I see a headache.

Yeah, the stock wastegates tend to suck on them too, as far as I know, and you would probably want to run an external gate. Plus you get to shoot flames when you lift off the gas. Huge plus.

Just go on EBAY and type 16G FLANGE they have all types for t3 turbos etc. the only thin that I see that would need to be made is an o2 housing.

The flanges on the old DSM manifolds are rotated 90 degrees from standard T2 flanges. If you can get an adapter that takes care of the 90 degree offset it should work.

A 16G has proven a very good match for the CA18 and the DSM turbos are clocked perfectly for bottom mount..... that's about it.16 attached using long bolts thru the DSM manifold, nothing like the T25.

If the 16 can fit under the stock manifold, u can weld the turbine housing directly onto the CA manifold, as I've seen done lotsa times by some very experienced folks. The argument is, u can always find a cheap mani & DSM turbine housing if.... Best of all, you'll never have those common pesky turbo-to-manifold gasket leaks - lol

If you're bent on the 16, a custom manifold is the best route imo also

or sell the 16, buy a SR T25 or 28.

boost_boy offered perhaps the best bolt-on "hookups" around for the CA18 (new T28 core 'fitted' to your stock housing). Dunno if still available.

A few on SXOC r actually happy with their ebay/chinese T28... if ya feel lucky.

If u can't afford a turbo, what will u do for the "supporting mods" needed to "feed" a turbo the size of a 16G ??

Save some money and do it right, man. What kind of performance are you looking for out of your engine. As dash suggested, the T28 center section on your stock housings (must be modified) gives you a mix of power and quick spooling. Set-up is good for 18psi, but it requires money. The 16G is nice, but I believe it will lag on a CA18DET a tad bit. I have one on my 4G63 powered Elantra and it lags a bit down low, but stays boost ready throughout the 3k+ rpm range.

Well I already have sr t25 @ 13lbs and have beaten an Evo8 and a couple of sti's and some boosted hondas it is pretty quick but I want like 300hp to the wheels. But dont have the dough for bbt28's or anything along the lines of such but I do have a genuine evo3 16g sitting at home brand new just begging me to be used so I will probably try and have manifold made or just get a cheap top mount manifold and cut the flange off of that and weld a dsm flange on top of it.

There is a difference between having moeny for $200 560cc injectors from evo's and not having money for a gt28rs a $1200 turbo I already have a bigger pump z32 maf an extra ecu that has already been socketed along with someone who can tune the car so I already have all the mods for it just need the injectors and a way to mount the turbo to the manifold.

I have done both setups. i dont think you can mount the 16 bottom mount on the CA they rotate backwards from nissan turbos and it wont fit, or at least thats what i remember from the EVO3 16 G i did few years ago. I loved that turbo on my CA. i was on a ported exhaust housing stock flapper and did not have boost creep issues. The sr20s we put them on all needed external gates to control boost with them. I now have the Evo8 setup and its a little laggy compared to the ev03, but i like it, the manifold is a PITA to build, and you have to top mount it. but its been good so far

Bean what do you want for the EVO8 turbo? i want to snag another as a back up turbo.

we also have a CA running a 14B here, its top/side mounted to a custom log manifold i made. Either way you will have to pay someone to build a down pipe for them, they will not work with the stock or ebay O2housings.

mitsu turbos are great cause they make good power and are cheap to get ahold of.

Here is the custom top mount I had made from a buddy of mine on cs12, Bart (BARTCO). He's advertised his services on here.....

Mocked up with a knock off 16g. I'll be buying a MHI evo 3 16g here pretty soon to use.....unless Bean lets his go for a good price

Anywho........

Here is an ebay adapter.......
