I'm looking at ordering a set of 16x7 enkei wheels soon, and I'm having a slight debate with a friend over what size tires to get for it. He's been in the automotive business for 20 some odd years, so I usually listen to everything he has to say, but I'm concerned on the aspect ratio part of the tire.

He thinks I'll be best off fitting either a 215 or a 225 width tire on the wheels, but he wants me to go with a 50 A/R. I was under the impression thata 55 A/R tire would be better. Does a 50 A/R sounds right? 215/50 or a 225/50? I'm a huge neophyte when it comes to tires. Thanks in advance!

225/50 is closest to stock diameter.

^--Yup. That's what I went with on my 16x7.5

It has a 3% speedo error, which is negligible.

yeah 225/50 is right, same ratio on the z32 oe wheels. that's what tire size i'm going with once i get some 16"s. Tell me, what kind of enkei's are you getting? I can't find crap in that size, not to mention the right offset!

Sky - There's a set of 16's on ebay right now almost identical to mine...

Search "Racing Sparco", they'd look HOT on your S13!!!

Actually those are a somewhat high offset, and i don't think those spokes will clear my z brakes. That or the offset. My car is white though. If i got them, i'd have to krylon those babies dark bronze and spray the lip silver/chrome. :P

Enkei has gone FWD. Everything in their lineup is high offset meant for an Accord, a Civic, or a Celica, Tiburon, or other uninspiring metal coffin.

No, that is too wide

Can it be done? Yes, with an extra tire bar and some leverage, it 'could' be done.

Should it be done? No, at 245width, you're well beyond the optimum rim width. I'd consider a 245 for an 8" and wider, but 6.5" is just too narrow of a wheel.

Sky - They'll clear Z brakes, and the rears are actually 5mm from touching the fender lip on my S13 with 245/45/16's.

I agree about the color though.
