kinda sounds like a blown head gasket to me. Especially with oil burning out of back of motor, and if you were leaking boost, would help explain your problems. Im not 100 % sure on this, but cant you let car cool down, start car with radiator cap off, and if you see bubbles in your antifreeze then that is one indicator of blown head gasket. good luck man, hope you get sr running good soon.

yeah, its starting to sound like a blown head gasket.

Check the oil return line from the turbo and make sure its hooked up properly. If its kinked and blocked off then the car will smoke a lot and run like crapola.

i was just lookin at those times ... 10.4 in the 8th.. i run 9.6's w/ a Ka ... w/ a filter where the airbox is supposed to be .. i still have stock pipe going to it ... somethign is definately wrong .. my sr is in the garage and if it runs slower than the ka i would be pissed too ..

i think i'm just having vaccum leak problems.. don't think it is a blown headgasket because a plug off my intercooler poped off causin the engine to run ****ty and thus causin the oil smoke from the rear of the engine... got my motor from jspec auto(don't ever buy from them) no it wasn't bad driving i know i can drive i'm thinkin that my wastegate needs to be messed with a lil think i'm boosting late...what rpms should i reach full boost?

Damn, my old civic ran 0-60' in 2.3 seconds with TERRIBLE traction. Anyways, Oil burning, smoking...and some how you managed to bring your car to the drag strip. Nice. Next time, why don't you try to AutoX with them blown shocks too. Anyways, what code are you getting? Also, it sounds like you have a blown head gasket...I hope there is no coolant in the oil, or/and vise versa.

The Vette is a 1974 454 4-speed.It was the last year for a 454 in any car.I had the motor rebuilt about 1500 miles ago,and then ran out of steam to finish the project.I paid $9000 for it and spent $2000 on the rebuild.Ill sell it today for $8000:( and ill be sad but hey if someone else can get some good out of the car rather than it just setting in my garage then thats better.

If you want to go fast I'll trade you my 79 malibu,not the prettiest car,but has about 4000 in mods and engine work,and runs 7.80on hoosier street tires w/3.08 gears with a 1.89 60 ft.,I'll even through in a 12 bolt w/ a 4.88 and a spool.

$4000 in a mods on a v8 and you only run 7.8 on slicks???thats like a sr with a turbo upgrade.

for the guy with the slow sr, do you have a cat? what boost is the turbo going to?is your car wired up right?a clogged cat can really hurt performance on a turbo car. i've seen them not go past 4psi but idle fine. all because of this.shaun

i'm gettin 8lbs even though no boost controller nine in the later gears i think my cat may be restrictive but not that restrictive i should still atleast be in the 15's but i will check that oh yeah and it sucks to be known as the guy with the slow sr

hey, u need boost controoler to feel the difference, when i dont have boost controoler i ran low 15's 1/4 with 7 lbs of boost but when i put the boost controller in.. god damn G-force is nuts u know.. so try to put in boost controller if u dont have one, it'll make a difference ya know... I say you should give you engine a full tune up. It's probably been sitting for awhile, (in whatever engine yard), plus sounds like you have a high milage engine. You should also check your turbo to see if there is any signs of leaking, or check the bov to see if it's on vacumm (happens alot).

On another side not, my cousins S13 ran 13.6@107mph with stock boost and street tires. I expected most to be in that range.

My friends Bone Stock Blk top S13 (95 I think) put down 160hp on the dyno altho we only ran it 2 pulles it seem to be making more power the more pulls I did. The 1st pull was 155. Whats the Stock ignition timming suppose to be on the SR20DET? He had it set at 10deg.

hey professional---isn't 16psi past the efficiency of the stock redtop turbo?? I thought that peak output was at about 14psi?

Yep, the turbo is past its efficiency. Keep it up and you will be seriously damaging your motor and turbine. That's what I've heard from alot of sources.

yeah, i agree. check that 60' time. if thats bad look at that r/ttoo. then you run into adjusting tire pressure and all that jazz.

R/T has no effect on 1/4 mile time. R/T just tells u how long it took u to leave the line after the light goes off. The time starts the 2nd u break the staging beams.
