Hey everyone..

I'm looking at these rims:

http://www.discounttire.com/dt...73317

They're 15x8 and only 44 bux each. I don't want them for daily use, I want to put some Nittos or some MT ET streets on em for when I go to the track or when I need to do those weekend runs.

My question is, what size tire would I be able to fit? a 15x8 can support almost anything, but what will fit in my wheel well? Anyone know? I'm hoping for at least a 265 or so. I guess a skinnier one would not be bad if it's a drag tire. Also, what is a good drag tire? Oh yeah, my S14 is stock height, and i'm gonna be running a SR @ 14psi

David.

I got the rims now, they're 15x8 with 3.75in. backspacing.

I think i'm gonna get BF Goodrich Drag Radial Comp T/A

These are the sizes i'm looking at. Will a 275 fit? I'm sure a 235 will, but I'd rather have the larger ones if possible. Any thoughs? 235/60R-15 P275/50R-15

205 is supposed to be the max u can fit under there dude. unless the lug holes are sunken in ALOT i dont see how you could do it with out altering the suspension. I mean maybe you know something i dont, but whatever...

I've got 225s on it right now on the stock 16x6.5, I know 245s will fit on the stock rim also. I know of other people who have 17x10s on a S14. I think other suspension will make it less likely to fit because it would likely be lower (no lift kits for 240s).

Has anyone gone as high as 275s though? I don't mind if they stick out a tiny bit. As long as they don't rub the fender at all. I'm at stock height so I doubt that'll be much of an issue. How much clearance do you have? Do you know what the back spacing is? I'd rather it cleared the fender so if I hit a huge bump it does not destroy it. I really want to go with the 275s and not the 235s.. Too bad they don't have anything in the middle. Damn BF Goodrich

Then go with a different manufacturer.

I want the Comp T/A Drag Radials. These aren't going to be for daily driving. Just for racing.. Probably friday/saturday nights and when I go to the track. I want a good drag tire. That's one of the best from what I hear. Nittos don't sell anything close to the size I need.

I wouldn't have any reservations with the 275...sure it'll bulge some, but I was actually going to do the same.

If I calculated properly (which I wouldn't bet on)....then there's no way in hell you'll rub inside and it might stick out slightly. But at stock ride height I seriously doubt you'll have a problem either.

And 8" is actually the recommended wheel width for the 275/60 so you're fine as far as rim width.

Do you think they'll tuck? Will 275 drag radials bust my halfshafts? I'm gonna be running around 250whp I just want to get into the high 13s.

I've never heard of anyone breaking them before. Maybe I've lived a sheltered life, but I believe the transmission usually goes first. I'd say you're safe with only 250 RWHP.

Well.. No damage to the transmission then. I don't want to break anything. I just want to be able to hook good. I spun my 235 kumos hard with my KA and open diff. I beleive i'll get the 275s then.

I got the rims.. I haven't done a test fitting because I don't have my car yet but they look good. Only 40 bux each.. They're about 26lbs each though. I ordered 275/50R15s for BF GoodRich Comp T/A drag radials for em.. Hopefully they're good. Hopefully they'll fit too..

OOH oh no weve got a l337 h4x0r in our midst. Go back in your hole and play more computer games. Besides the fact that you have lousy skill at name calling, someone with 17 posts hardly has the right to call someone else a noobie.

just an FYI, the difference between 235 kumhos and 235 DR's is a big one. you don't need 275's with 250rwhp. 235/245 should be as wide as you possibly need at that power level. as an example a buddy of mine runs 8" wide ET streets on his 583whp civic hatch and he hooks pretty damn hard launching on a 2-step and nitrous (583 dyno was without nitrous activated). 275's are just extra weight you have to turn and will probably slow you down more than help.
