Thats an awesome deal. Thats what I love about living around Houston, lots of salvage yards and they usually cut you a better deal if you pull it and pay cash. You need to do something about that leaking mastercylinder and half rusted booster, lol.

the engine was pulled from a 91, the most difficult part is all the labor . the best way to do the swap is to get the de and e harness chop the small plug at the end off, match all the wires colors to mate the old plug off of the e harness to the de harness. some wires wont match colors dont even hook them up just tape them out of the way. other than that you gotta use a tach from a de car. find the writeup on the wiring theres only 5 wires that need to be hooked up to the plug under the dash . its pretty simple as far as swaps go. the weakest part from e to de is that the de is a knuckle buster.

sohc's can hande just as much power, the key is good fuel management. my sohc ran mid 12s pretty easy, the only reason it was that slow was because it had a super laggy t70 but still trapped 118.

I think you will notice a more responsive feel due to the dual port design of the KA head and the overall better flow of it will produe more power at a given boost level in stock trim.

I don’t want to thread jack, but can you use a ka24de from an altima to do the swap and just use the RWD transmission and accessories from the old k24. I have a DOHC right now but it has some miles on it and I was wondering if I could build up the KA from the altima then swap the transmission and accessories afterwards.

you can use the block only. A friend of mine did a de swap in an 89. He could only find an altima engine so we swaped a rwd head and covers from a rwd de and he's been driving it a little over a 1.5 years.
