150,000kms/~90,000miles do i need suspension?

So my ride was clunkin and clankin rediculously over any bump and getting worse the last few months, so i brought it in to a shop my dad reccomended to me. I figured I needed new suspension or at least new stabilizer links seeing how my ride is a 99.5 and has 150k kms. I got a quote from midas a few months ago which ill never go to again since everything they do theyve f***ed up on my q. Anyways they quoted me $450 for the stablilizer links.....WOW.

This new mechanic i got is a super honest guy and has done a lot of work on my dads truck and will be doing mine now. I brought it in thinking I needed new suspension and he said its fine i just needed stabilizer links n charged $225 after everything, not bad

So now it rides much better and no more clanking.....SHOULD i be replacing my suspension? I dont have the smoothest ride in the world but I never haul stuff or many people and i dont plan on driving it more than another 4-5 years then itll be my winter car.

well first off wuts up man, havent seen u on the forums much laitely, i mean im not on often either but i almost never see ya.

anyway, well b4 i had my suspension basically redone i wud say i really dont know, but i lifted my pathy and she only has 75000 on her,i replaced every bushing in the suspension system, and the control arom bishings became dust once they got pulled out. i was like wow. if your Q is still sittin nice and level then u shudnt have to worry about yur springs, but bushings will deff give a rough ride if they are bad, wich might be the case for you. between the front control arms, the trailing arms, and the rear trak bar, u'd be replacing 14 bushings. u cud need shocks and struts 2. its hard to say. sometimes the dumest thing can make those clunks and rough feelings.

so IMO of should u replaceyour suspension, ya, depending on what u've replaced recently and wut not, u said u did yur sway bar end links already, front ot rear? and not 2 b a downer,but 225 to replace them? the end links are a30 or 40 dollar part, us currency, and labor shidnt run u over 150 buks, i think u mighta got take 4 a bit of a ride. if yur ridin smooth, then dont worry about it until u get another clank, or u cud replace everythin piece by piece, u know, lil here, lil there.in about 7 months or so u cud prob have a whole ned suspension,minus springs if u dont need em.and u'll prob be way surprised at how smooth the ride of yur Q really is.

haha yeah i finished college in december and started a job last month and ive been just all around busy, but ive been on the forums constantly on my blackberry just never really say much.

Yeah 225 may seem like a lot in the states but you americans need to realize, automotive related stuff is way cheaper there especially labour, Everytime a canadian posts how much we spent on something americans think we got ripped off! haha i called a few places that was way cheaper than the rest. I dont want to do suspension work myself, but i may bring it in to the mechanic for a second look once i get the paint redone and i have extra cash to blow. Im saving for a house so I want to spend wisely on the q now and just do the things that will make it last until I can afford a nissan 350/370Z!

I havent seen picks of your lift! i didnt know you did it, id like to see. I plan on lifting my q and putting mud tires on it when i make it my winter only ride.

and ya i havent posted any pics yet kuz its not done, waitin to get an alignmentb4 i put my new tires and rims on, dont wanna destroy 8 hundred dollar tires. i cant wait till its done and i can actually drive it, and its goin higher to, i wanna get 1 inch spacers, i want more! haha

but ya, if u just wanna keep it runnun tillu get yur 370 then wait 4 another clunk to show up and fix em as they come, but remember, that clunk can always go away quik with a simple turn of the volume knob. lol
