As long as the fan has LED's, his statement is valid.

jeez, i'm not sure who is more of an idiot, the guy or you for beleiving him

listen up folks, it's been said before and i'll say it again:

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHEAP SPEED

sure you can do little things to make your car a little faster, but if you want anything more than 10hp it's gonna cost you

intake, headers, and exhaust will add around 10rwhp and even that will run over 1 g

anywhere near 20rwhp without spending money is a pipe dream

dont flame him, he just asked if its true i think he at least had his doubts.

The only way that would be possible is if the fan itself pushed the car beyond the speed of light , i dont think that has been invented yet.

Yeah, this is a valid question. Save your flaming for the people who want to know how much hp they can get from a LED exhaust tip.

Removing the stock fan is one of the most cost effective upgrades for your car. For less than a hundred bucks, you can make some noticeable improvements to top end power. Especially for the SOHC that probably has a bad fan clutch and makes that annoying truck sound(whhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, whhhhhhhhrrrrrrrr, whhhhhrrrrr). You're not going to get anywhere near 15-20 hp but it will help.

you dont gain any power. what your doing is freeing up power if your fan clutch is shot, and constantly spinning the fan.

i did a dual flex a lite setup on a jeep cherokee with a bad fan clutch, and it made a very noticeable difference.

its not that your increasing your power, your just removing load, so more of the power you are making makes its way to the wheels.

there ya go, that's what i wanted to say lol

not a power gain, just an efficiency gain...definately worth the money

i wanna do a dual flex-a-lite setup on my KA-T....if i ever get around to that lol

it won't make a huge difference really, maybe 3 horses if you're really lucky, all it will do is reduce pulley drag on the engine. if you were to get underdrive pulleys, I'd definetly recommend removing it in place of the electric fan.

Just rewire your electric fan that is already there. It works great for me. No real hp gains, just frees up the motor a little to rev faster (lowers total rotational mass).

For SR owners, a manual boost controller and a 50 dollar cone intake will easily net 20 whp depending on how much you up it.

that sums it up right there. it also prolongs the life of you water pump. And all KA's with the mechanical fan still equipped make the horrible 'whirring' sound. Especially in hot weather.Just make sure that your electric fan works before you take it off. ;) Since mine had a blown relay i just took a relay for the foglights that USDM s13's don't have and used that instead. If your 240 isn't equipped with a/c then you're going to have to purchase an electric fan.
