I'm still not at 15,000 miles but I like to try and stay a step or two ahead of things. I inquired about the price to have the service done a few months ago and was quoted a price by the dealer of around $239. I want to keep this car within warranty but I've also read in a few places about people being ripped off on simple things like air filters, cabin filters etc. I'm more than happy to have them give the car the once over but I mean I don't want to be charged like $60 for a filter i can buy online for $10 and install myself in 5 minutes?

I'm assuming it's safe to do these things yourself and note/keep record of them and let the dealer do the inspection, rotate/balance etc that has to be done at 15,000?

Keep good records and you'll be fine. I do all my own work and save myself big $$. We have YouTube videos out there on how to do 80% of the normal maintenance and we're working on the other 20%.

Excellent! Sounds good, I'm happy to do most things myself if I can. I'm all for learning new things and saving a few extra $ along the way if I can.
