15,000 mile service

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Just brought my 2008 EX in for brake service, as the brakes were vibrating a bit and not as strong. I was told it may be covered under a service bulletin which would be great.
They recommended the 15000mi service which includes tire rot alignment oil fluids air filter, cleaning batt terminals etc. Since I changed oil 2 months ago I passed on this. I allowed them to rotate tires and align wheels. The other things I feel are unnecessary and expensive. Anyone else feel this way?

What are the necessary things to be done at 15000 without just throwing money away? By the way I have a 2008 that until 3 months ago was barely driven which is why am just doing this service now after 2 years.

Perso, I don't think the air filters are unnecessary if they are dirty but yes you can do them by yourself. Have they service they brakes under the tsb?? because brake t-up is necessary (caliper lubrication etc...). brake t-up is kind of cheap compare to caliper replacement. If your car is low in miles, like you said, your better to follow the maintenance schedule cuz a car that dosen't ride worn faster!

They replaced the brakes under the TSB. Calipers pads etc.. I will try to replace air filter myself. The battery terminals are perfectly clean so I didnt feel need to have them charge me to clean them. I had them Rotate and align wheels and balance. I assume this is good enough under my lease agreements.

Those 15k mile service and many of the other services... they are usually just inspections and minor things that you can do yourself and save a lot of $$. Most of them are not really parts/fluids or replacements of anything, just looking at things. The same service they sell you for say $300+, an independent shop would do for $100+ Those are the biggest $$ makers for the service dept.
