14psi w/ no boost controller???

so I have a sr20 240. with a greddy fmic 2.5" ic pipes, greddy bov, 3" dp to a flowmast being dumped under the car, ( I just got this car)and today I installed a boost gauge and I am getting 14psi...I dont have any kind of boost controller, and it is the stock turbo/wastegateany ideas?

my WG line is ran to a nipple on the ic pipe ( hot side) right by the bov. if that means anything

Sounds like the WG is hooked up correctly, thats exactly how mine is.....could be a bad WG possibly????

so the previos owner had the ghettoest boost controller..........he had a vacumm T with left open that let out just enough air to run 14psihahah ghetto...
