14 QX 80 Steering wheels

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and bought a 14 QX80 with @ 24K miles on it. Long story short the surround on the steering wheel that contains the controls has the finish that is failing. I have been to the dealer and to Infiniti directly and they both claim that this is normal wear and tear. Crazy really, but it needs to be fixed as it drives me crazy.

So here is my question, I have a friend in autoparts that has found a old stock Infiniti steering wheel, part # 484301LL0A. All the controls are the same as well as color etc. Will this old stock replace the new Infiniti part # 484301LV9C? If not can I at least take the controls out and switch them over? I plan to have the dealer do the deinstall and reinstall as I dont want to mess with the airbag and other issues based on the service manual.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

the only concern would be if the wiring harness matches up to the harness in the dash.

ask the dealer what part number is recommended for the steering wheel and go from there. your parts person should be able to source it if he or she has access to those parts.

thats not "normal"./ ive a 2012 and my entire interior looks brand new and my car is a daily driver. i mean some people just don't take care of stuff.
