Ive got an s14 kouki sr20det thats all stock...

So I took it to a tuner in my area and hes saying that the car makes 174hp on the dyno because I have a walbro 255 fuel pump thats flowing too much fuel and my sr is "bogging out" around 5k rpm.

MY QUESTION....

Can I swap in my stock KA fuel pump and run it with my stock s14 kouki sr20det without messing anything up?

Thanks

ur tuner is a moron. I'm running a stock ka24de with a 255lph fuel pump with absolutely no problem and it even pulls harder than stock. If everything is all stock then why do u need a tune to begin with? the stock ECU is tuned just fine for stock boost and stock injectors. I personally think its a mechanical issue and u should take it to a new tuner before this guys ruins ur motor. ohh and if u use the stock KA fuel pump, u run the risk of not having enough fuel which would cause the motor to lean out and melt something. The 255lph fuel pump install is part of the SR20 swap, everybody uses them without problems. The only way ur tuner could be right, is if the FPR was acting weird and u had to much fuel pressure. But that would also mean the car would be near impossible to start when warm. On the other hand, my old sohc had a bad FPR and i could get its to start just fine when warm, but it would run pig rich for about 10min and clear up. TAKE UR CAR TO SOMEBODY ELSE!!!

Your stock FPR most likely gave in to the higher flow fuel pump. Get an aftermarket one with a gauge.
