Before i begin let me start by putting on my asbestos fire suit, becuase i know i'm going to get flamed for this one. However, has anyone ever seen a 13b rotary thrown into an s14 chassis. If not, then why would this not be a good idea.

Let me also say that i fully realize the potential of the sr motors. On top of that i also realize the potential of KA turbo. I beleive both of these are great motors and i hold nothing agianst them. Until recently i had considered, and am still considering both options. However, in terms of shear horsepower per pound of boost, with eqaul amounts of tuning, i beleive the wankel rotary to be superior.

You can tell me all about how unreliable the 13b is, i am fully aware of its reliability issues (which if you ask me are not really issues at all if you know what you're doing). I am also aware of the amount of care that must be takin in tuning this engine. However i would much rather hear points, on how it would effect the cars geometry, moving weight distribution, how to line up shifter, engine mounting, wiring, etc, etc.

I am interested because this is an option that i have not heard discussed before. I tried using search function and came up with nothing. So with that said, i'm very interested in what all of you think. Once agian, i want to talk about the wankel rotary going into an s14 chassis, not about how it would be ignorant just becuase i can put an sr or ka-t in there. I am already aware of what can be done with these engines. I want to hear valid points, why or why not and what kind of suggestions you might have on this. I also dropped this one in the KA turbo department, just so i can get it out to the most people, maybe i should just post up in general chat.

Well, i wouldn't want to do it, but if it's what you want, then you should look into it. If I were gonna go all out, I'd do a swap similar to Aries' LT1 swap. Except, it would have to be 454 or up of course.;) A swap that does seem to be popular though, is putting a big v8 in a FC chassis. So, a lot of people must not be too impressed with the Rotaries, if you compare that with American muscle. I think it would be more of a waste of time than anything though, to do a Rotary swap. Might as well go RB. An RB swap might cost the same, but would probably be a hell of a lot better.

Sorry, i should have added that handling will be a factor, i want the car to be all purpose, don't want to be plowing through corners, bouncing over curbs, wrecking mailboxes, rutting up the lawn, etc. It just wouldn't be very tasteful.

why dont you just get an fc and swap in 13b or even a 20b? that would be simple compared to all the custom fabrication required to drop even a 13b into an s14. an fc would also be lighter and more balanced due to the fact its designed for the rotary in the first place. just my opinion.

I'm just not digging on the fc's interior styling cues. Its just too 80's for me. I'd go fd, but there just to hard to find in the condition that i want, for a reasonable price. On top of this, did i mention that i won't be paying insurance on a factory turbocharged vehicle, i'll still be at the same 240 discount rates. I also like having a back seat.

I have seen a 13b in a S13. There is a guy in South Florida that has it...so I'm sure it'll work just fine in an s14.

I agree with you about the motors as well...a 2 rotor 13b flows as much air as an i-6. I have been thinking more and more about this swap...
