Hey guys, ive started gettin stuff for my stereo install (kenwood excelon 815 bought so far), and im having a hard time deciding on a sub and wanted to see what you guys had to say about the subject. Id be doing a backseat install to have room for a decent sized box. Ive been leaning towards a 13w7 powered by a 1000/1. Im not specifically looking for SPL or SQ, its jus gonna be a street setup that ill occasionaly enter into a sound comp. In the past, i was looking into a 15 S7 but the box size seems too big for the car (95' 240). Ive heard good and bad things about the w7, but mostly good, thus im leaning towards it. But, what do you guys recommend? I'm lookin for some serious bass

I currently own 2x JL 12W6V2's powered by 1000/1 in my 02 Q45, its awsome SQ and pretty tight SPL (Ive set off car alarms). Ive listened to the W7 and I chose the W6 over it, it sound so much better. Although I like JBL's better. GTI serious is awsome.

from what ive been told, the jl w6v2 is pretty much the same exact sub as the w7 but costs mad less

now obviously you will have a touch more bass and clairity from the w7 but if the guys at tha shop (mobile audio concepts in keene, nh) have street ppl listen and not be able to tell the difference, id say go with the w6v2's

me personally i run 2x alpine type r 12's in a bandpass with a old kenwood 600watt, 200rms 2 channel amp (underpowering subs) and i am absoutly astonished by the amount of bass i get

I've got teo JL 10w7 with a 1000/1 amp in my 92 240sx and it blows me away. I also use to have 2 audiobahn 12's flame searies. I also heard MTX has a sub juts like the W7 searies only better for less.

yeah from what ive been told having 2 w7's and having 2 w6v2's is the same unless you know exactly what your hearing and feeling for, so if jl is your thing id honestly go with the w6v2's ONLY because they are cheaper

plz dont get me wrong the w7 is an awsome sub!

I <3 Diamond Audio.

I've heard a lot of other subs, and for the money, DA is by far my favorite. I'm running a 12", and unless I were to get a 15", it will stay there for a long time.

Ya, they do, its the 9500 series. I researched the series for a while, but ive heard about just as much bad about them as i have good...so im undecided

in the mean time, im gonna go down to a shop around town soon and listen to a 13W7...its been a while, and the last time i did i had no clue what i was supposed to be listening for
