good times.

but i thought burn-outs on street tires gave the opposite effect of making them better for launch..

i could have sworn doing a burnout on street tires only makes them more slipppery...

i think only slicks get stickier when warmed up by a burn out

I just did that for comedic value because everybody at that track (Street tires or not) does a burnout.

The only thing I do is a small dry spin to remove debris from the tires. Full fledged waterbox burnouts give no benefit as far as traction goes.

Once you get street tires passed their workable temp range, they are oily and worthless as far as traction is concerned until they cool back down.

I ran 13.6 @ 104 with ****ty 2.3 60' times...at 9psi.

You should be trapping ~110-112 with 13-14psi...GET IT TUNED.

I talked to a friend today who just got a job at a shop with a dyno. If all goes well I'll get tuned on Thursday and go to the track on Friday.

not to "flame" you, but it isn't nessacary to burn out in street tires. I would just spin them a little to get the rocks and such off the tires.
D Money wrote:burnouts make all tires stickier
HAHA, it makes them hot, but i wouldnt say stickier.

SLO, are you running LSD? i was hoping 480cc's can get into 12's with a t3/t4. put on some good tires and lsd if you dont have it already. and you only retarded base timing 2 degrees? with 13psi of boost?

With a good 60' a 107 mph trap should put him in the 12.7-12.8 range...

That's what my STi could do with a 1.7x 60'. [email protected] worked it to 12.6@109

ET streets will get ya close to that.

yeah, I got a VLSD. I'm really hoping for some 12's but good tires are expensive and I'm broke.

A little disappointing but...well screw it

Keep in mind it was like 100 degrees in there. I know...excuses.
