coming up on the 120 k mark with my 2001 gxe. besides normal maintenance what should i look for in terms of preventive stuff? is this a good time to replace the water pump(original)? all hoses are original-maybe change those before failure on a long dark road? i'm just trying to stay ahead of problems-much easier than walking or calling the tow truck.

Water pump is not a bad idea, although a PITA to change. Most don't change them until they go bad and usually give you a warning before it completely quits working. Transmission flush, engine flush, plugs, wires, check axles for torn boots, new clutch(if manual), fuel filter.

thanks for the advice. i'l probably go ahead with the ump and belts just to avoid a breakdown; this is my commuter.

i save my gto for fun. looks like you have some serious wheels yourself.
