Could someone point out which wire specifically either behind the glovebox or under the cupholder is feeding 12V that I can tap into and feed a computer?
Or where in the service manual I can find this...as well as the ignition wire.

Thanks.

It might behoove you to state year make and model. Also, what 'computer' are you wanting to power? A vehicle ECU, ECM, TCM, BCM, or are you wanting to power an actual computer, like a tab or touch pc?

If you want to power a USB device to plug into a tablet or something to use as a "computer" in the car then you cant use 12v, that would fry it. USB uses 5v I think
If you want to power an actual computer power supply you CANNOT use a PFC power supply as the square waves generated from the car will destroy it. And youd need a model that can take 12v in. Or use an inverter to change the 12v DC to 110v AC. Which....then gets changed back down to 12v DC and other voltages on the other rails inside the PSU. lol.

You mentioned ignition as well. If you only want it on when the car is on, you could tap it at the cigarette lighter as long as you won 't draw more than 15 amps.

The ignition wire is just in case I want to go that route for a smart start. I haven't made up my mind with that yet. So where can I get the ignition wire? I'll check my amp requirement later...thanks for reminding me about that.

Bump, if i might grab the ignition wire, i might as well take a 12v line near it. Also I'm at 10 amps.
