Yeah if you get t-boned in that things... its curtains.Or.. if you're in the 'back seat' and someone rear ends you, - ya might as well ask them to drive a car up your butt-Kev

well eletric motors (from what i was told) have alot of torque downlow. and considering the cars size and weight i'm not surprised it can pull 12's.

Supposidly that car has 1000 ft./lbsAlthough that would suck like ALL of the juice from the battery to make it produce that.. ehehe-Kev

its an enclosed go cart. You'll die the instant someone bumps you in a parking lot, and flip the darn thing over on the track.

It's a legit invention it seems. I was skeptical so I looked up the patent #. Here it is if anyone cares:http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi...8,121

apparently no one read the part about it being built around a roll cage....

it's gonna be more like a midget car then a go cart though, fairly safe, but really small and fast:D

And you can recharge it anywhere you have a 400 amp outlet. I don't think I have one of those here. My 250 amp welder only requires 50 amp at 220vac! Most small commercial buildings don't have 400 amp service!

I'd rather pay up to $5/gallon for gas vehicles than to EVER own electric. That is one thing I won't be caught dead doing, driving or owning an electric car.

i jsut watned to comment on electric motors: the power band is determined by the wind and turn. lower turns means more power from the motor and the more efficiently is uses power to make torque. but, that also means it uses that power a lot faster. the winds determine the powerband. the more winds, the more low end power. the fewer winds, the more high end power.

Saw it at the LA auto show, the thing can do what they claim. The entire bottem of the car is a giant battery, and also a built in center of gravity, the thing handles pretty well from what I've seen.

Not a bad car, but $85,000 for a kit you have to build yourself? No thanks. But it does seem like a fun little people mover. Plus: not having to buy gas = awesome. Though, it only goes 60-80 miles before a recharge is needed.

Take a look-see at one reason it'd be awesome: http://www.commutercars.com/do...g.mpg

I guess all the people that pay $5 a gallon in europe are ignorant. I mean, why would you pay $5 a gallon for a fuel efficiant gas car when you could buy a $85,000 kit car that sits 2 people, no luggage and has all the safety features of a motorcycle (none).
