115 mph is not a good top speed

So currently i am topping out at 115 mph, I have done a NA to TT conversion on my 90 z32, and just finished replacing all of my fuel components, pump, controller and filter all are now the TT model.

I know the pump is really different and i know the filters are the same, but i have heard the controller does and doesn't work but i'm tired of topping out at 115, so i went for the TT controller.

My question is why am i cutting out at 115? i've heard the n/a will do up to 148 governed, i never took it over 110 mph when it was n/a, never really had the space for it honestly, but the TT flies to 115 mph, 5th gear at about 5 grand.

I haven't done a fuel pressure test, but the ecu, pump, injectors, all the necessary parts for the TT were installed correctly, i have no other problems concerning fuel cut, it doesn't cut out any other time, just at 115.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, i know it's not that big a deal to go over 115 mph, but it gets there so quick that i've had to cut some drags short because of it, also if it's not going above 115 i'm assuming that i'm not really getting all the correct power through the gears that i should be.

Thanks

Do you have a JDM ECU?

Yeah it was a JDM engine, transmission, ECU, everything. i've heard the N/A Japanese ones top out at 114 or so, didn't honestly think about that causing my problem, would've thought they wouldn't have that but if it's from japan then yeah i guess it would have that governor on it.

Is that a pretty good candidate then? How fixable is that, getting a new ECU, getting an eprom chip, or a upgraded one i guess.

Umm really it's just like cruising on the highway then getting about a good 10 secs of increased throttle and bam 115, it's surprisingly easy to hit, that or cruises around here usually get going pretty fast.

Touche, but I'll be dollars to donuts he doesn't

An upgraded ECU/EPROM will remove the limiter. This is modding 101, surprised you didn't know this.

Well in all honestly i haven't gotten much into the modding, and i'm basically just starting in the whole performance car stuff, i've been doing a lot of research and working on the car by myself to get myself familiar with the z32's.

I know the technician side of it but as far as modding/tuning i'm a newbie. But i plan on learning what i can and getting help from forums is where i start.

Fair enough.

All aftermarket ECUs eliminate (reprogram) the top speed limiter.

....And keep it at the track. No need to go that fast and endanger people on the street.
